Bag "tax" in Seattle might lose.

As a Fiscal Conservative, I am against taxes on principle, or at the least - I only favor very low taxes, on very few services. I am as anti-tax as one comes, however every once in a while - I hear of a tax proposal that is so stupid, I wonder if anyone feels the same way that I do.

Enter environmental freaks from the soggy City of Seattle.

These nutjobs have a tax coming to a big vote in Seattle, where every plastic bag that you get at your local supermarket, book store, etc. - will cost you 20 cents per bag. All in the name of reducing plastic bags.

I see this as added costs on consumers, another way for a crazy liberal city to raise money for horrific programs, and of course - another loss of Freedom. If you cannot change someones love of freedom, just tax them to death appears to be the liberal scheme.

Shockingly, citizens in Seattle according to a new poll, are actually against this tax increase! Its like Hell has frozen over! Perhaps, for the first time in Seattle history - a tax increase could be defeated! A National day of celebration should be declared if this is defeated whenever the vote occurs. For once, high taxes & lost Freedom are actually being opposed in Seattle Washington.

Somebody pinch me.

There is a flipside, the main opponents are older citizens in Seattle (probably because that every penny counts during a massive recession, and raising taxes/costs even by several dollars a weak is just crazy, then again all citizens should fell the same on this principle alone), which means - in two decades, this tax will probably go through.

For the time being, lets celebrate that a draconian anti-Freedom bag tax will not be coming to a supermarket near you, then again lets keep fighting in Seattle - because the citizens still have to vote on this measure, and God help America if this ever passes.

It would not have come to a popular vote had not the antis pushed it. The establishment wanted to ram it through.
