Democrats steal Republican yard signs in Hawaii!

Authors Note - I have an Interview with Charles Djou pending.

When Congressman Abercrombie resigned from the House of Representatives a few weeks ago, most expected an interesting special election to replace him, considering a Republican, Charles Djou, has a realistic chance of winning the mail ballot special election in a few months. However, I doubt most expected Democrat(ic as in sick)ic operatives to steal Republican yard signs.

I received this email from the Djou campaign a few hours ago:

Aloha Tim,

We are now less than a month away from ballots being mailed. We are working very hard, and thanks to all of you, who have given your time and your financial resources, and are reaching out to your family and friends, we have a real chance of winning this seat for the people of Hawaii.

Our hard work and success in reaching others with our message of fiscal responsibility and government accountability, however, has made us a threat to all those who benefit from the status quo.

Charles is already being attacked on multiple occasions by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in Washington DC. Unfortunately, the DCCC sees nothing wrong with distorting Charles' record, misrepresenting the facts and in one instance outright lying to the media about Charles. So far, we have been lucky that the media has by and large disregarded the DCCC's attempts to mislead the public. But, we are not naive enough to believe that they will stop. We expect that they, and others like them, who support Charles' opponents and the status quo, will only step up their efforts as the election nears.

I encourage you to be vigilant. You know Charles; you know his record. Don't believe every allegation you may read or hear. Please question the source and contact us, so that we can set the record straight.

Another indication that our campaign is a threat to the status quo is the number of yard signs stolen on a regular basis. We know that it happens in every election, but the rate that our signs are stolen surpasses anything we have ever seen before. In some areas, we will put up a yard sign and the sign will be taken in a matter of hours. One of our supporters reported last week that she was in her yard when a white van drove up to her house. A man jumped out of the van and pulled her yard sign out from where it was planted in her yard. When she asked him what he was doing, he said that he was from the Djou campaign and that the sign was needed in another location. This was completely untrue - the campaign never relocates signs to "better" locations. We value every single person willing to indicate their support for Charles with a yard sign.

I encourage you to let us know immediately if your yard sign is taken. The only way to fight back is to keep putting the signs back up when they are stolen. Better yet, if you have a camera phone on you, take a photo of the person or persons, as they are stealing the signs, or take a photo of their vehicle license plate.

Despite all of this negativity, we will continue to run a positive campaign based on the simple message that it is more important to elect a Congressman who will fight to lower your taxes and let you keep your money than elect a Congressman who wants to spend all of your money. Our opponents' allies and their political machine, however, are far more interested in power than principles and will not stop at stooping to any new low to win at any cost.

Please consider making a contribution to our campaign. It is only with your help and support that we can make a difference in our community. Your contribution of $25, $50 or $100 to Charles’ campaign will help us replace the stolen signs and will send a message that crooked mainland-style campaigning has no place in our democracy.

It is truly sad that some feel so threatened by our campaign that they would resort to lies, misrepresentations, and outright theft. But, if we stand by and do nothing, then they win. We must stay focused. We cannot give up. This is too important to our State and our Nation.
Mahalo!

Djou is just another Brown. He is pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and wishy-washy about repealinging the healthcare bill.

Oh, brother. Stealing yardsigns! Mr. Djou is a lawyer and should understand "innocent until proven guilty". Let's hear more about how he intends to deal with jobs, banking, and health care for all.
