George Pataki for President?

Governor George Pataki (R - New York) announced last week that he would be launching a new organization dedicated to repealing and replacing Obamacare, instead of seeking the Republican Nomination to challenge Senator Gillibrand in November. According to recent polling, the former Republican Governor would be in a tough race against Gillibrand, but he would have an amazing chance of winning.

However, the former Republican Governor launched Revere America last week, an organization advocating for the repealment and the replacement of Obamacare with free market policies. The organization is also seeking millions of Americans to sign their petition, one of the main points of the organization.

What does this mean?

Well, I could be incorrect, but I believe this organization has been launched to "test the waters" for a possible Presidential run for Governor Pataki, who will be holding "petition drives" across the United States: Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, California, Texas and Iowa. Three swing states in one "petition drive" is not a coincidence.

Up to now: The 2012 Presidential election has been expected to consist of Governor Romney and Governor Huckabee, with several darkhorse candidates in between, neither of those candidates represent moderate Republicans as a whole, and that is a void Governor Pataki would fill. Plus, unlike Governor Romney who has the Massachusetts health care plan as baggage, Governor Pataki has his national organization, advocating for the repealment and replacement of Obamacare.

Pataki 2012? You never know, but I don't believe for one second that his "petition drives" are visiting Nebraska, Nevada and Iowa are by coincidence. Keep your eyes and ears open, we could have an interesting Republican Nomination for President in 2012.
