Georgia special election next Tuesday.

When Congressman Nathan Deal resigned from the United States House of Representatives in March, there was little fanfare or news appeal from traditional media sources or nontraditional new media sources. However, it seems that everyone on the Left and the Right has forgotten about the special election that will be held next Tuesday to replace Mr.Deal.

Half-a-dozen Republican candidates, one Democrat and one Independent are running to replace Congressman Deal next Tuesday, but if none of those candidates receive 50.1% Georgia's special election vote, a runoff election will be held on June 8th, 2010 between the two candidates who receive the highest vote totals.

Considering the interesting electoral dynamics of Georgia, and several other Southern states, it's possible that if a runoff election is held in June, that it could be between two Republicans. Not a situation we want with the general election just five months away, and because we need all of the Republicans we can get into Congress now.

We need another Republican in Congress on May 12th. Not June 8th or June 9th, but May 12th 2010, the day after Georgia's ninth congressional district special election is held. As such, local and national Republicans should gather around and behind the State Senator Lee Hawkins, who's a dedicated Conservative, and will represent our agenda well.

Georgia Republicans: We cannot afford to have a lack of Representatives in Congress, we need a Conservative legislator such as Lee Hawkins on May 12th, not another Republican has the clout or standing that this man has. I'm sure a large portion of votes will go to the other five Republican candidates, but just one deserves election.
