Brewer Now Ahead by 22 in AZ Gov Race

A lot was made of Governor Brewer's gaffe during her debate last week-- it even made it to the front page of Yahoo and Failblog. However, it appears that she is on the way to victory, despite all of the negative press and anger thrown her way.

AZ Governor
Brewer * (R): 60%
Goddard (D): 38%
Other/und: 2%
* Denotes incumbent

This poll is from Rasmussen, the most accurate of the major pollsters. After the immigration bill was passed there was talk of a great coalition rising to challenge Brewer-- so many disaffected anti-Brewer voters that it could tip the scales in the McCain Senate race. Instead, these voters never seemed to materialize and Republicans and independents have joined up to support her.

Keep in mind that this poll was done after the debate. The support for Goddard is just not happening. This even comes after AZ is more and has more Latino voters. Brewer's approval rate is also at 64%.
