Obama to Show Solidarity with American Public, Will Trade in Presidential Limo for 1990 Chevy Lumina
WASHINGTON- In a move that the Administration hopes will strike a cord with suffering Americans, President Obama today revealed his plan to trade in the Presidential Limousine in favor of a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina.
According to White House sources, the President recently went to Discount Ben's Car Emporium in search for an affordable car that still runs, without too many miles. President Obama was also looking for an American car to show support for the US Car Industry.
Discount Ben showed the Command in Chief around his car lot, passing by mid 80s Monte Carlos and late 70s Ford Broncos. "But he was just struck by the Lumina," said Dan Johnson, a spokesperson for Discount Ben.
President Obama chose to buy a Sedan Model with a V6, according to Johnson.
"Today I drive a happier and safer man," said the President at a Press Conference. "I have traded in my Presidential Limo for $800, which is the most Ben said he could give to me, and that he was being generous already. But my friends, it was worth it.
"I mean, look at that beauty parked in the White House driveway. It's got four semi-new tires, a three month warranty on the frame, and almost a full tank of gas. What else can anyone ask for?
"But I didn't just do this for the looks of the car, or the amazingly cheap price offered by low-low price wizard Discount Ben, who is both honest and fair, but for you, the American people. I did it to show that we can buy American again and win. We can get affordable cars, gorgeous cars, fast cars, cars with four seats, any kind of car we want from GM or Ford, or whatever else country that's in the United States."
The President had to cut his Press Conference short because his Lumina had started rolling backwards out of the White House driveway, even through the President swore he put it in park.
