I had a fine Independence Day.

I had a fine Independence Day yesterday at Schoharie County's Old Stone Fort, where local Militia* read speeches and letters from Abigail Adams, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, George Washington, and let us never forget: Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence.

The Old Stone Fort was originally built as a Reformed Dutch Church, but the calls of two Wars would force it into Military service - first as a refuge for local settlers during the Revolutionary War, and second as a armory for the Union Army during the Civil War.

I just love Independence Day.

To me it doesn't matter who is or who isn't President of our great Nation, and it doesn't matter which legislation has or hasn't been signed into law, because we live in America, where freedom will always reign, and where success will always be celebrated.

Tomorrow is Independence Day.

Just imagine that your a Delegate to the Second Continental Congress 234 years ago. Thomas Jefferson's completed Draft was read aloud yesterday afternoon, and now you and four dozen other men are putting the finishing touches on the finest document ever to be written in World history - The Declaration of Independence.

Christmas is important from a Religious standpoint. Thanksgiving is important from a Family standpoint. However, Independence Day is like none other in our Nation, it represents a day when we threw off the chains of Monarchy and Dependence, and declared ourselves Free and Independent.

God Bless America! And please remember to read the Declaration at least once this weekend, it is not about the hot dogs and it's not about the beer: it's about Freedom and Liberty.

Merry Independence Day

Hey All,

I would like to please wish all of our readers and all Americans a very merry Fourth of July. We're now 233 years old, and still looking pretty good.

To our Constitution and our spirit we our our freedoms and our liberties. To our military we owe so much. We must try and have faith in our government and go forward together, making sure that we leave the world better than we found it.

With all of the troubles around the world, we must remember that we are Americans, ready to help; free and independent.
