Texas GOP Primary - Hutchison concedes, Perry Wins.

WELCOME INSTAPUNDIT readers! We at Jumping in Pools welcome you to our political blog.....I will continue to monitor results from Texas for a little while, despite the fact Hutchison has conceded.

Perry has won. Hutchison has conceded. Medina refuses to concede. What are your thoughts on Perry retaining the GOP nomination?

Also, will Hutchison resign as promised? Should Hutchison resign as promised, the Governor should appoint Michael Williams as Interim Senator.

Original post:

Who will Republicans select as their nominee for the Governor of Texas? We will know in just a few short hours, as millions of Republican votes are being counted as I write this. Media reports are indicating an enormous turnout amongst dedicated Republican voters in the Lonestar state, perhaps a political barometer of measuring Conservative and Republican interest in the upcoming elections.

Governor Perry is a dedicated Conservative who deserves another term in office, Senator Hutchison would make a fine Executive despite her "Washington connection" and I would support the Democrat if Medina is selected as our nominee. With that said, I support the Republican incumbent; Rick Perry.

Jumping in Pools will be updating results from Texas, as the votes are counted.

Remember, Perry needs 50% or more of the vote to win the nomination tonight, anything else will result in another Republican vote between himself and the Senator.

11:34 PM - Eastern Standard Time. 60.43% of precincts reporting.

Perry - 560,905 votes (51.38%).
Hutchison - 335,541 votes (30.73%).
Medina - 195,143 votes (17.87%).

Hutchison has conceded. Perry has been declared the winner.

Medina refuses to concede according to multiple tweets on Twitter.

Senator Boxer vs. Liberal Blogger.

Senator Boxer (D - California) is between a rock and a hard place. She is facing three potential Republican challengers, all of which have significant support across the state, as Californians desire real political change and members of her own movement are sick and tired of her.

I'm not one to follow Democratic primaries, due to the fact I am a Conservative Republican who cares about Republican primaries, and selecting our best candidate to defeat our socialistic foes outweighs following a battle of two definite political evils.

However, the latest political drama out of California is interesting and shocking; Mickey Kaus, a well known liberal blogger who has some ideological differences with the extreme liberal base of the Democrat Party, has announced his campaign to challenge Senator Boxer for the Democrat nomination. Most will dismiss this campaign as "having no chance to achieve political success", but most political experts dismissed a Republican could compete with Boxer in California, let alone be within striking distance.

Conservatives, Republicans and Independents must watch for the political breaking point amongst California Democrats, because a serious challenge to Senator Boxer from a member of her own political movement, could fracture Democratic morale and support come November. This challenge, regardless if the political opponent is a political blogger by trade and practice, could provide the eventual Republican nominee a chance to capture Conservative Democrats.

We could win California in November, but we need the perfect political storm to achieve such a electoral earthquake, something that appears to be brewing as I write this article. Overall, I still support Chuck Devore for the Republican Nomination, however, I have a feeling a divided and fractured Democratic Movement could provide us electoral success, regardless of who our eventual nominee is.

On a final note, this is also the continuation of political bloggers entering the political scene, though most attempts, whether it be Conservative or Liberal blogger based, have failed, this could further divide liberal and progressive bloggers in California, another possible political win for Republicans when our eventual nominee challenges Senator Boxer in November.

Hayes Suing Village over 'Bridge to Nowhere'

It was revealed at the Middleburgh Village Board meeting on March 1st that former Middleburgh Mayor Gary Hayes has filed a lawsuit against the Village of Middleburgh in claim of $155,000. The dispute revolves around a bridge which Hayes built without a building permit in 2008. After Hayes was asked to receive a building permit he instead claimed that the Village of Middleburgh owned the land leading to the bridge and that it was Middleburgh's responsibility.

Hayes claims that the land was to be used as a garden. The lawsuit claims that Hayes lost property value over this decision and demands that the Village pay $100,000 for land value depreciation, $10,000 for the cost of constructing the bridge, and $45,000 in other costs.

John Smoltz is a religious zealot?

It has been confirmed, Liberals believe being a man of religious faith makes you a religious zealot, especially if you base your political beliefs on religious doctrine. When it was reported that a Republican strategist suggested John Smoltz should run for Congress in Georgia's seventh district, the liberal cries of "Zealot" appeared on websites across America.

What is the basis for these illogical and inaccurate smears against John Smoltz, a former Atlanta Braves starting pitcher who has won over 200 Major League Baseball games over the course of two decades?

Smoltz is a Evangelical (Born again) Christian just like me, and 30% of the American public.

Besides the fact being an Evangelical Christian is not evil (at least, I don't think it is), illegal or threatening to American culture, when compared to other religions, what is wrong with someone that holds deep religious convictions and those convictions are crucial to their political beliefs? I can't think of one thing, considering Evangelicals care about eliminating abortion and restoring values, opinions that most Americans agree with.

I wonder if "liberals" have ever looked at the political donations or personal friendships of John Smoltz, before smearing a potential candidate for the United States House of Representatives ( Smoltz is not running, according to an article from a Atlanta based Newspaper) who is also an accomplished athlete. I have gazed upon the political record of Smoltz, and it appears our "religious zealot" is not a "religious zealot".

Smoltz donated $2,300 dollars to the Republican Presidential campaign of Governor Mitt Romney, who is a self avowed Mormon.

Smoltz is good friends with professional golfer, Tiger Woods, who happens to be a Buddhist.

Smoltz has been one of the cleanest professional baseball players during his entire career, as I have never heard one claim of racism, sexism or religious intolerance.

John Smoltz is a Conservative Republican. John Smoltz is a Evangelical Christian. John Smoltz is a Hall-Of-Fame pitcher. John Smoltz is not a "religious zealot" hellbent on the bombing of abortion clinics, forcing thousands of innocent individuals to drink the kool-aid or blowing himself up for 70 virgins.

If Smoltz is a zealot unfit for Congress, then most of our Founding Fathers should have remained on the sidelines I guess, that is according to the liberal opinion on world affairs.
