Freedom to Criticize.

When I hear the terms "political correctness", "safe speech", and "restricted speech" - my blood crawls with discomfort and I am overwhelmed with urges to launch into an "obscenity speech" to anyone that will listen. All of the above mentioned terms are in violation of Freedom of Speech, but I'm also detecting trends that are in violation of Freedom to Criticize.

Freedom to Criticize? Some might ask when reading this article. It's rather simple: Most people, whether they be in America or Europe, believe in Freedom of Speech, but they have a problem with the Freedom to Criticize; such as citizens who protest out of control spending, experts and activists who protest Islamists, and so on.

And even more people have a problem with the Freedom to Criticize Religion (or should I say the Islamic Religion). As an opinionated Christian, I dislike several Christian denominations, I dislike several "Cultish Christian Religions", and I'm opposed to any Religion that is not of my Christian or of the Jewish faith (Islam, Hindu, etc. etc.).

I have the Freedom to Criticize those Religions and denominations of which I'm opposed to, such as the supposed "religion of peace", Islam, or even the Catholic denomination. But at the exact same time, those who disagree with my religious preference (Born Again, non-denominational) have a right, or should I say a Freedom, to criticize my beliefs as well.

However, the Freedom to Criticize is being prohibited across the entire Western World: Pastors cannot criticize homosexuals or read the Bible in several Nations, individuals such as Ms.Geller of Atlas Shrugs are attacked for standing against Radical Jihad, and writers - like Mark Steyn, are brought before sham "speech tribunals" for exposing Islam as an oppressive religion.

There's a bigger Fight than socialism at hand; there's a fight for our most cherished Freedoms, and we must fight like hell before the Freedom to Criticize is lost for all time in the Western World, and especially in the United States.

Senator Bennett, Mark Steyn and Freedom of Speech.

I must admit something that rarely happens to me: I have too many topics to write about than time to spare this morning. It feels like the end of the world is upon me; just last night I was in "Chairman" mode at a local Young Republican meeting, and today; I'm completely lost, without direction as to what the hell I should be writing about.

Thus, the following article will be a combination of opinions on Senator Bennett of Utah, a book review of Mark Steyn's America Alone and a valued paragraph or two on Freedom of Speech and how that Freedom must be exercised and protected at all costs.

To Run or Not to Run.

According to an article on USA Today's website; Senator Bennett will soon decide on whether or not he will run as an "write-in" candidate in Utah's Senatorial election in November. He would be the first Senator since Joe Lieberman back in 2006 to attempt a "third party" run to reclaim his seat in the Halls of Congress.

Putting aside my personal (positive) feelings about Senator Bennett for a minute; can the longtime United States Senator win if he were to run as a "write in" candidate against the eventual Democratic & Republican nominees? I believe Senator Bennett could and would win. Some might accuse me of political bias, but I think we should look at the facts before labeling me.

1. Senator Bob Bennett won the 2004 Senate Election with 69% of the vote, compared to 28% of the vote for his Democratic opponent, and 3% of the vote for two lesser known candidates. As we are well aware of; Utah is a red state, that's not gonna change in 2010.

2. According to a Rasmussen Reports poll in April; 37% of Utah Republicans would have voted for Senator Bennett if a Primary was held, instead of the State Convention. If Senator Bennett could retain those 37% in November, along with at least 70% of undecided Republicans; than a successful campaign could achieve 51% of Republican votes; more than enough to achieve the ultimate upset.

3. If my above mentioned "theories" were to occur, and the Democratic candidate receives about the same percentage of votes in 2010 than in 2004; Senator Bennett could win with 35%* of the vote, the eventual Republican Nominee could capture 34% of the vote, leaving the Democrat in last place with 28% of the vote.

Senator Bennett could win; if he runs.

America Alone.

Mark Steyn has long been my favorite talk show host and Conservative columnist, but his book America Alone; was just eye opening. I never realized before that birth rates have fallen to such levels in Europe; I've heard of the Pope begging for Italian Catholics to reproduce and I've read of the Russian government offering $9,000 thousand to reproducing couples, but I never put two and two together before.

I'm not going to write long about it, but if you want an eye opening experience on the death of Europe and how radical Islamists are slowly gaining control; please purchase Mr.Steyn's book and be amazed (and also send it to your liberal friends).

Freedom of Speech.

Today is Draw Mohammad Day across the entire Conservative Blogosphere, where faithful individuals to Freedom of Speech will declare this to radicals who threaten them: We're not gonna take your threats anymore. Freedom is for all, not for the selected. Freedom of Speech doesn't protect the Freedom to not be offended; to be offended is to be breathing, a natural human experience.

As William Wallace declared in Braveheart: FREEDOM!

* - Including the Independent voters; who would be more inclined to support a Senator Bennett "write-in" reelection campaign than to support Mike Lee or Tim Bridgewater, who most feel are dragging the Party to the Isolationist Right.

It's time to stand for Freedom of Speech.

Over the past few weeks Matthew (founder of JIP) and Michael (leading contributor) have been dancing around the idea of this blog supporting the "Draw Mohammed Day" on May 20; when Conservative blogs will be posting pictures of the fabled Muslim prophet in response to death threats made towards South Park for their episode involving Mohammed.

This exhibition would be an exercise for the Freedom of Speech against radical Islamists who have threatened private citizens for exercising their Constitutional right to freedom of speech and the freedom of opinion.

Besides for a private email to Matthew about the subject, I have remained quiet on the topic, though unusual for me, I really have no say as to what the blog as a whole does, and I respect my position of opinionating more than anything. However, after reading Michael's article this morning on how Islamists are threatening to kill the group creator of the "Draw Mohammed Day" facebook page, I feel compelled to write the following:

It's time to stand for the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of opinion. We can no longer allow religious fanatics to dictate our Constitutional rights; which include the right to offend someone with your personal opinion. I know that some peaceful Muslims might be offended by this anti-Islamo Fascism campaign, but I don't care - that's the beauty of America. They can call be an Christian bastard, and I call them an Islamic asshole. That's America! That's Freedom!

All Conservative bloggers who support the War on Terrorism, who support our Troops in our War against Islamo-Fascism, who support the Independent Nation of Israel, and who most importantly support Freedom of Speech, and Freedom of Opinion must join with one another in a united stand for Freedom. Draw a picture of Mohammed, and proclaim ourselves proud in our freedoms, and unafraid to express our opinions.
