Fiorina Now Leads Boxer by Five

A new landmark poll has incumbent California Senator Barbara Boxer trailing her Republican opponent Carly Fiorina by five percentage points. This constitutes a slide for Boxer's support and a very bad sign in an already Republican-leaning year.

Fiorina (R): 47%
Boxer (D)*: 42%
Other/und: 11%
* Denotes incumbent

Not only does this show Boxer behind but it also shows Fiorina inching towards the 50% threshold. For an incumbent-- especially one for three terms-- to be not able to crack 45% in a heavily-Democratic state is certainly bad news for her.

GOP Up in California

The day of reckoning appears to be approaching as Republican candidates have taken the lead in both major races in California, according to SurveyUSA. Carly Fiorina has surged in front of incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxwer while former CEO Meg Whitman is beating former two-term governor Jerry Brown by over 5%.

Senate
Fiorina (R): 47%
Boxer (D): 45%


Governor
Whitman (R): 46%
Brown (D): 39%

This comes after Brown compared Whitman's tactics to those of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels and Barbara Boxer's negatives are way up. Fiorina has moved from a 3% deficit to a 2% lead, a 5% shift.

Senate Race Almost Tied in CA

Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina are in a heavy political fight for a Senate seat in California. Boxer, a long-time incumbent can't like the numbers that came out of this Field Poll.

Boxer (D): 47%
Fiorina (R): 44%
Und/other: 9%

Boxer's numbers are less than 50%, which in and of itself is a red flag. Given that California is so heavily Democratic, the fact that Fiorina is near 45% is great for this stage of the race. In times like this, undecided voters tend to break off 2/3 for the non-incumbent. Considering there is 9% in the other category, if 2/3 go for Fiorina, it's a 50-50 tie.

There are some things we don't see here. Boxer's negatives are very high, although the polling doesn't factor in the possibility of a surge of new voters:

Boxer's slight numerical lead masks potentially serious problems for the senator, starting with how 52 percent of the respondents hold an unfavorable view of her.

At the same time, her job approval rating is among the lowest that Field has measured for her since she was first elected to the Senate in 1992: 43 percent of registered voters disapprove of her performance while 42 percent approve. Among likely voters, 48 percent disapprove and 42 percent approve.

Boxer (D) 48% vs. Fiorina (R) 43%.

According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports: Senator Barbara Boxer (D) is leading Carly Fiorina (R) by five points in California's upcoming Senatorial election this November. Primary victories for both Boxer and Fiorina led to a small bounce in the polls; Boxer 3 points, Fiorina 5 points.

Barbara Boxer - 48%
Carly Fiorina - 43%
Someone else - 5%
Undecided - 5%

Just five months separate Californians from examining the polls and from entering the polling booths. And I expect the climatic "Don't Call Me Ma'am" vs. "What's With Your Hair" race to become a nail biter of epic proportions, or in other words the closest Senatorial election in the state of California since the early 1990's.

I don't believe Fiorina will win in November; but that Fiorina can win in November - as long as all Right-Of-Center voters and individuals of importance endorse and support the Republican Nominee now and not later. Winning in California would be monumental, but without pickups in North Dakota, Arkansas, Colorado, Nevada, Delaware and other States in November; that one victory would also be a hollow and worthless one.

Kaus for Senate?

Mickey Kaus, a well known Democratic blogger from California, is challenging Senator Boxer in the California Democratic Primary next week, and even though his campaign has a close to zero chance of receiving 10% of the vote; Conservative bloggers are promoting his campaign left and right, as anyone is better than "Don't Call me Ma'am" Boxer.

Even though Mr.Kaus is a fellow blogger (we have a code), and he's challenging Senator Boxer (I despise that awful woman); I cannot in good conscience support his campaign. Why? Well, in the world of which I'm apart of; Democrats are the problem, and electing more of them, common sense or otherwise, is not the solution.

As Conservatives we need to be focusing on the Republican side of the aisle; and whether or not we want a candidate who cannot win (DeVore), a candidate who cannot stand Israel (Campbell), or a candidate who can win and who will support Israel (Fiorina) as our Nominee against Boxer come November.

Conservative bloggers can support whomever they want, Republican or Democrat. But I would never just support a Liberal Democrat, just because he isn't as Liberal as a sitting United States Senator. We must keep an eye on the important Republican race, instead of wasting our time on another Liberal "common sense" Democrat who has no chance-in-hell of winning.

I don't know what happened, Joe faithful. Apparently, I spent the last week in the captivity of Nicaraguan pirates. Or at least, that what my doctors tell me I saw. Well, anyway, here's my babe of the week:

Maybe it's because she's frighteningly pretty, or just frightening, but it's always a doozy.Mrs. Boxer is known for here for her insanity as a representative for California, but known world-wide for her looks. All Joe knows is that he's glad he's wearing Boxer shorts.
