Is "Leave Me The Hell Alone" Conservatism on The Rise?

Rick Moran of Right Wing Nut House published an article on whether or not "Leave me the Hell Alone Conservatism" is on the rise within the GOP this morning, and I feel compelled to write about National Defense related Conservatism real quick.

It's true that Western Conservatism, or "Leave Me The Hell Alone Conservatism", has gained considerable momentum within the Republican Party since President Obama was inaugurated last January. However, this momentum will never takeover the GOP and some aspects of the movement should never be heard or seen.

Let's begin with this momentum will never takeover the GOP; as long as the Southern United States is still apart of the Union, Evangelical-Social Conservatism will have a strong hold within the GOP; which is a good thing considering the Pro-Life stance is gaining ground, and that more and more states are declaring "gay marriage" illegal.

Now when talking about and some aspects of the movement should never be heard or seen; I am referring to the Isolationist, gut the Military, neo-anarchist aspects of this movement, which populates the fringe of American politics, and doesn't understand it's 2010, and that our National Defense should function as if we're in the year 2010.

To make things simple: Western Conservatism, or "Soft Libertarianism" as Rick Moran dubbed it; might have a few more advocates, such as Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin, but it will never make a permanent mark on our current political society. And when it deals with a National Defense or War related issue; should never be heard or seen.

I'm not calling Sarah Palin an Isolationist (I'll call Beck that), and I know her motives are more along the "rugged Individual" line of the West, but her endorsement of Congressman Paul's son over a certified Conservative is troubling, especially when we already have 58 Senators and a good portion of the House prepared to gut our Armed Forces.

As I've written before: National Defense or nothing.

Also; Domestic Western Conservatism should be used on a regular basis (exempting the anti-drug-on-war and anti-social conservatism attitude) when dealing with Domestic issues only, I'm not objecting to that, but once National Defense is touched - all of those Western Isolationist carpetbaggers should be kicked the hell out of office.

Republicans to meet in Utah.

Republicans in the State of Utah will be meeting this morning and afternoon in Salt Lake City, as a Senatorial candidate will be selected, and the future of the Republican Party and movement as we know it, could forever be impacted.

Will Utah Republicans retain Senator Bennett for another term in Washington, or will the weak-on-National-Defense Mike Lee be selected for his inaugural term of service? That's the nagging question 3,000 or more Republicans will decide on this morning and afternoon, and a bigger and more important question of National Defense, and maybe even Conservatism as a whole, will be decided as well.

Me and several other Conservative bloggers have written about this all important Convention, and how it will impact Primaries and Conventions to come. Some, such as myself; have stood by Senator Bennett's bid for a fourth term in office, while others, including Erick Erickson and the Club for Growth; have made it their personal mission to see the Senator kicked out of office.

Traditional Conservatives are not pleased with some of Senator Bennett's record on a few issues, including the TARP bailout and Congressional Earmarks, but his commitment to Utah, National Defense, the Second Amendment and Life is inspiring, while his principled stances are honorable.

No candidate is perfect, but few are as honorable or as stubborn about their voting record and still proud at the same time than Senator Bob Bennett, who could be cornered into a hard place with Liberals and Conservatives attempting to force him to change his opinion, and he would never budge from his original, well thought position.

I have no control of what happens in Utah this morning and afternoon, but I would like to make one last personal appeal to the Republican Delegates who will be gathering at 8AM Mountain Standard Time in Utah: Will we be a Party of National Defense, or will we be a Party of reducing the debt and budget, at the expense of National Defense?

The decision is yours; please choose wisely, please choose Bob Bennett.

Another terrorist attack on American soil.

November 5th 2009 - Nidal Malik Hasan murdered 13 American Soldiers at the Fort Hood Military base. Hasan is a radical Islamist who hates this Nation, was in contact with a radical imam who had connections with Islamic terrorists, and considered the "fight against" American soldiers a spiritual duty for all Muslims.

December 25th 2009 - Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab unsuccessfully attempted to bring down Northwest Airlines Flight 253 over Detroit, Michigan, on Christmas day. Abdulmatallab was also connected to that same imam who Major Hasan exchanged emails with, and who he considered a hero. Abdulmutallab was a native of Yemen, and even his own father warned American officials about his radical beliefs.

May 1st 2010 - An unknown terrorist or terrorists planted a Car Bomb in Times Square, which was rigged to explode and would have caused a massive loss of life. Due to the heroic actions of a local vendor who was also a Vietnam Veteran, New York Cops were alerted, and the bomb was neutralized.

Let us not forget the half-of-dozen terrorist attacks the Federal Bureau of Investigation stopped last year, including a attack on the New York Subway system. America has faced terrorist attack after terrorist attack over the past fifteen months of Obama being in office, our Nation is weaker and our enemies know it.

According to some speculation on Twitter and traditional media sources, the terrorist attack in Times Square might have been directed at Viacom, which owns and broadcasts Comedy Central, which in turn broadcasted the television show South Park, which a few weeks ago dared to make fun of the Muslim religion. This is all speculation as of now, but interesting.

Except for a few Conservative bloggers, almost all Republican lawmakers; who are out of power at this moment, Joe Lieberman; who is thankfully in power, and our Armed Forces as a whole, America has been neglecting the War on Terrorism the past fifteen months, and we can't afford to anylonger.

We're in a War. We need to start acting like it, such as we did after September eleventh. Please remember we're in a War on Terror when casting your ballots for Republican candidates during the primaries and in November: Not one weak, libertarian, wussass Republican should be voted into office, we have enough of them in the Democratic caucus.

Stay strong America and God Bless America!

Without a strong National Defense; nothing else matters.

Announcing the Endorsement of Bob Bennett.

I believe the upcoming Utah Republican Convention could define and brand our movement for months, years and elections to come. Our Republican movement will either remain a movement dedicated to National Defense, or transform into a pseudo-libertarian brothel that will force a third national party into existence.

Will we as Republicans reward legislative leaders such as Senator Bennett with reelection, or will we throw out National Defense accomplishments, for a supposed Constitutionalist, who does not respect the single most important aspect of federal government: National Defense. Considering Tea Partiers have proclaimed themselves "in control" of the Utah Republican Convention, this "election" will once and for all define Tea Partiers as either "allies" or "idealistic boobs".

With the above mentioned in mind, I would like to announce my personal endorsement of Bob Bennett to represent Utah Republicans in the upcoming United State Senate election. When we encounter steadfast Conservatives, especially on National Defense, we should never consider another man, especially one that doesn't understand the fundamentals of our current wars at hand.

I know the Republican Nomination comes down to hundreds of elected Delegates to the state Convention in a few weeks, but I would like to encourage all Republican voters in Utah to email, phone, and contact through all means your local Republican delegate, and please encourage him or her to support Bob Bennett for the Republican Nomination, as we need him more than ever in Washington.

Please visit Bennett's campaign website.

Also; this is a position I have remained consistent on: From Chuck Hagel (in opposition to) to Joe Lieberman (in support of) and dozens of supposed Republicans in between, including Ron Paul and Jason Chaffetz: National Defense or nothing.
