Afghanistan vs. Vietnam - The Statistics.

Is the War in Afghanistan the same as the Vietnam War?

Absolutely not. Afghanistan has been fought with vigor and courage at such levels Vietnam knew nothing of, and our Troops in Afghanistan have been well received and honored at home, and the cause of our mission is supported by the American citizenry, and the ultimate cost of war cannot be compared between the two.

American casualties in Vietnam - 58,159 killed, 303,635 wounded.
American casualties in Afghanistan - 1,130 killed, 6,623 wounded.

How are these wars the same?

98% fewer American soldiers have died in Afghanistan, while 97% fewer American soldiers have been wounded in Afghanistan. Besides for both wars lasting for a long, long time, how in the hell are they the same? Afghanistan isn't split into two, victory can be achieved and our current war means a lot more than Vietnam ever did.

These wars are nothing alike, and will never be alike, unless liberal fanatics, and Libertarian nutjobs get what they want - total American surrender and a hostile Afghanistan.

Joe's Babe of the Week

Hello from the jungles of Prussia as Dr. Joe telegraphs home his newest iteration of his patented Babe of the Week segment. I've went through thousands of mimeographs and have prepared perhaps the sweetest babe that money or sweet talk can buy.

Joe's Babe of the Week:
Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda is what every man wants in a woman: snotty, whiny, and with a great bod. She's been on the circuit for forty years, and I don't just mean Hollywood. With her stunning blond hair and a voice that could shatter a grown man's heart, this babe is perhaps the hottest Dr. Joe has gotten his hands on.

Known for her great patriotism, Jane is known for killing over a hundred American pilots in Vietnam, and for shooting down Senator John McCain. Patriotism runs deep in her veins, as she carried on her anti-war work in the States, convincing the Viet Cong to kill thousands more American soldiers.

So if you catch one of her movies, don't boycott it. Pull up a chair and open a beer.

Neato

Yesteday, the Republicans won a small but cool victory. Joseph Cao defeated the corrupt William Jefferson in Lousiana. Political parties aren't actually as important in this race. Just as I was happy to see Ted Stevens go down in shame, to see a kleptocrat like Jefferson lose to an immigrant makes me beam with pride.

So with one more seat secured, the Republicans are only down by like 700 in the House, right? At least there is one positive consequence of our shameful entry and exit into Vietnam.
