Arizona supports McCain by 22%.

Conservatives and Republicans alike agreed on one thing Tuesday night: Senator John McCain was heading to the United States Senate for his fifth and likely last term. This afternoon, Rasmussen Reports confirmed what I and most GOP politicos expected in a new poll of 500 likely Arizona voters.

Sen. John McCain (R) - 53%.
Rodney Glassman (D) - 31%.
Some other candidate - 10%.
Unknown/not sure - 6%.

McCain's poll numbers remain unchanged from a Rasmussen poll that was released last month, even though a raucous Republican Primary between the four term Senator and former Congressman J.D. Hayworth concluded in a McCain landslide on Tuesday. 82% of Arizona Republican's support the reelection of Senator McCain this November.

Any thoughts on how much McCain will eventually win by?

Hayworth Won't Concede

This might seem a little out of place, but alas it's true. Senator John McCain destroyed former Congressman JD Hayworth in Tuesday's primaries, yet it appears that Hayworth still will not concede the race. The race was particularly long and nasty, with both sides injecting personal barbs. However, this appears to be one of the weirder parts of the fight.
Sanders told POLITICO Hayworth had no plans of calling McCain. A message seeking an explanation on why was not immediately returned.
According to the article Hayworth would not concede after he lost the 2006 race to a Democrat. So do you believe that Hayworth should or will concede? What would you do in this situation?

Primary Mania Predictions - August 24, 2010.

For the latest results, please visit our other Primary Mania article.

Today is Primary Mania in the United States of America, especially in Republican precincts, and as such, I decided to compile a list of the more interesting battles that are unfolding across the United States today, and offer my personal predictions. Please feel free to comment, and if you reside in any of the Primary states - Alaska, Arizona, and Florida - please get out there and vote.

Alaska's Senatorial Republican Primary

Senator Lisa Murkowski will defeat Joe Miller, who is backed by Sarah Palin and Tea Party groups by a 60-40% margin. Closer than expected, but a Murkowski win nonetheless, and a clear case of Palin backstabbing (she originally supported Murkowski last year).

Arizona's Senatorial Republican Primary

Senator John McCain will defeat Congressman JD Hayworth by a 70-25% margin, with a third lesser known candidate receiving the rest. Both have received the endorsement of Conservative individuals and organizations in Arizona, but Tea Partiers have mostly stayed out of the Primary.

Arizona's 3rd Congressional Repblican Primary

Will the Republican voters of Arizona's 3rd congressional district support attorney Ben Quayle, State Senator Pamela Gorman, or Paradise Valley Mayor, Vernon Parker? I personally have no idea who will win today, but I'm doubtful it will be the son of Vice-President Quayle, as a sex scandal has embroiled his campaign.

Florida's Gubernatorial Republican Primary

This Primary battle is nasty. Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and Businessman Rick Scott have been tearing at one-another for the past few weeks via television advertisements. I support the Attorney General due to his very conservative record, and according to a recent poll of close to 800 Republicans: 39% (a plurality) of GOP voters do as well. But this race is up in the air.

Any thoughts?

McCain May Destroy Hayworth on Tuesday

Tuesday will mark the end to one of the most drawn out and publicized races in the country this year. Former Congressman JD Hayworth has challenged incumbent Senator John McCain for the Arizona Senate seat. Hayworth pulled close with some polls showing him just 5-7% behind. Hayworth also flooded the media and internet with advertising and interviews. Hayworth is predicting a big win, but polling shows McCain winning easily:

McCain*: 64%
Hayworth: 19
Und/other: 17%
* Denotes incumbent

Even if all of the undecided and Deakin voters swing to Hayworth he still loses almost 2-1. Hayworth is a fool and has been since he launched his campaign. Voters took a serious look at him and fled him quicker than the supposed "RINO" McCain.

Hayworth trails Democrat opponent in Arizona.

Supporters of Senator John McCain often tout his fiscal discipline, his record on National Defense and our Troops, and his common Conservatism that has led to a 81% rating from the ACU. But, I have a feeling that McCainiacs will soon be adding Only McCain Can Win Arizona in their touted reasons.

According to a new poll from Ramussen Reports, Senator John McCain is leading his potential Democratic opponent by close to 20%. However, McCain's Republican foe, JD Hayworth, trails their common Democratic opponent by 5%, and close to 30% of pro-McCain voters obviously will not support Hayworth if he is the eventual Republican Nominee (at least for now).

Rasmussen Reports Survey of 500 Likely Voters:

Sen. John McCain (R) - 53%.
Rodney Glassman (D) - 34%.
Some other candidate - 11%.
Not Sure - 3%.

Rodney Glassman (D) - 43%.
Rep. JD Hayworth (R) - 38%.
Some other candidate - 13%.
Not Sure - 6%.

This poll is shocking. I have always figured that if Hayworth were to beat McCain, that at least the Senate seat would remain in Republican hands and that we would have a National Defense supporter oncemore. That last part now means nothing, because Hayworth cannot win, McCain can, and only McCain will.

What's your choice: Victory or Defeat?

McCain Leads Hayworth by 20%

Some news from a new Rasmussen poll showing incumbent Senator John McCain over challenger, former Congressman JD Hayworth. Rasmussen is the most accurate of the major polling firms and has predicted the last two Presidential elections. As for the Arizona race, McCain is cleaning house:

McCain: 54%
Hayworth: 34%

With McCain over 50% and Hayworth's infomercial past exposed, it appears that the challenge is about to fail. Furthermore, the opposition to McCain appears to be splintering between Hayworth and other smaller candidates, further increasing McCain's chances of winning in the August contest.

Quinnipiac: 37% believe US would have been better off with McCain as President.

This is definitely the poll result of the week.

According to a recently released poll from Quinnipiac University, a plurality of American citizens believe our Nation would have been better off had John McCain been elected President, instead of Barack Obama. A surprising and, at the same time confirming result by all accounts.

37% believe America would have been better off.
35% believe America would have been worse off.
15% believe America would have been the same.
13% don't know anything, and thus are undecided.

Just 18 months ago America was inaugurating a new President, and now it appears our Nation wanted another man, one with experience, wisdom, and confidence. I feel it's safe to say that a Nation begging for change, got robbed and wants a refund.

What say you?

McCain Opens "Devastating" Lead Over Hayworth

An Arizona-based poll is showing that incumbent Senator John McCain has opened what has been described as a "devastating" lead over challenger and former Congressman JD Hayworth. After Hayworth reportedly got within five percent of McCain, his challenge has stalled and moved backwards. This poll does include both Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, who can vote in the August primary.

McCain: 64%
Hayworth: 19%
Jim Deakan: 5%

McCain Lead: 35%

Time has come for Hayworth to pack his bags and go back to doing infomercials. McCain is here to stay, as he should. Say what you want, McCain is the most fiscally responsible, foreign policy expert in the Senate today, period. To get rid of him for a corrupt hack like Hayworth is ideologically, politically, and practically insane.

McCain Leads Hayworth by 11%

Another hat tip is in order to HotAir, who had a story on the newest polling from Rasmussen. Rasmussen is the most accurate of all the national major pollsters, so this is certainly bad news for JD Hayworth. According to the latest snapshot, incumbent Senator John McCain has kept a double-digit lead over former Congressman JD Hayworth.

McCain: 47%
Hayworth: 36%
Other/Und: 17%

The relatively high level of other/undecided could potentially hurth Mccain as these voters tend to leave the incumbent at a rate of 2:1. Even if this occurs, the final tally would be about McCain 52% to Hayworth's 48%. And that won't even factor in Democrats and Independents who might go in to vote and cast their ballot for Mac.

Looks like it's time for Hayworth to go back to infomercials.

McCain Up 26% on Hayworth

Yes, I know all of the talk about John McCain being a RINO and he's terrible and what ever else people want to throw at him. The fact remains that he might be the single most fiscally conservative member of the entire Congress-- and during the tenure of President Obama, that's a very valuable trait. He's also one of the best members about military affairs and strategy-- also unlike the current president-- and JD Hayworth.

Remember that polls also have Hayworth behind the Democratic candidate for Senate if he should win the primary. Hayworth has surprisingly high negatives and was one of the number one taker of illicit funds from Jack Abramoff. Plus he was kicked out of Congress as an incumbent by a Republican district.

And now he's down 26% to John McCain. The RCP average has McCain up 15%. Pack it in, JD. Stop wasting everyone's time.

McCain to Crist: Don't Do It

In a similar message to GOP leader Mitch McConnell, Arizona Senator John McCain has told Florida Governor Charlie Crist not to run as an independent if he loses the Florida GOP Senate primaries. McCain, who's facing his own tough primary has told the governor that he will not back Crist if he runs as an independent.

Pressed further, McCain said, “I support Republicans.”

McCain, who is facing a GOP primary challenge this year,  added that Crist is “a dear friend. I like him, admire him and respect him, but I’m also a Republican.”

Crist is fast running out of options. The longer he waits the more he looks like he's desperate if he actually runs as an indie. I can't tell Crist what to do, but he has to realize that even if he wins the Senate race, it would be the end of his tenure in the GOP and any Presidential ambitions.

Obama Snubs Our Ally Georgia

Some more news out of the diplomatic front. Apparently President Obama has snubbed the President of Georgia, which is one of our staunchest allies in the world. This comes after Russia invaded the small country in 2008. Georgia has bravely fought with the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan, sending more troops to Iraq than Spain, France, Russia, Canada, or China. They are surging into Afghanistan to help our troops and have cooperated with us to fight terrorism.

So the US response? Leave them out of a summit-- and have their enemy Russia there instead.

In 2008 when Russia invaded one public official made a bold stand for Georgia: John McCain.

And Georgia's response:

Shameful.

McCain Leads in Arizona Primary

It's not by much, but the GOP's 2008 nominee John McCain is leading his challenger JD Hayworth. Rasmussen, which historically has the most accurate polling in the industry, finds McCain ahead by 7%. While this isn't an enormous lead, it is certainly less than Hayworth would have wanted, especially considering the results in Florida between Crist and Rubio.

McCain 48
Hayworth 41
Und 8

There's still 8% undecided, which would mean that they would all have to break for Hayworth in order for him to win.

Joe the Plumber Becomes Joe the Bummer

Joe the Plumber, made famous in the 2008 Presidential race for questioning then-candidate Obama on his tax plan, has apparently switched his tune.

First he calls Obama one of the more honest politicians:

"I think his ideology is un-American, but he’s one of the more honest politicians. At least he told us what he wanted to do."
He's also attacking former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for supporting John McCain. Now, this doesn't really make sense due to the fact that Palin likely supports dozens of candidates, of which Joey the P. might not like all of them. In addition, he's dumping on John McCain for featuring him in campaign events.

"He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.”
Except that Joe didn't have to go to any of those campaign events or appear with McCain or Palin if he didn't want to. Hell, he could have gone to Obama rallies and helped him out. So Joe has book and interview deals pending and people wanting him to run for office, and all of a sudden John McCain came in and kicked him in the royal American?

I think not.

Don't Be Fooled: JD Hayworth is a Loser

What could go wrong? John McCain at 73 is the bane of many conservative Republicans-- known for bucking the establishment and working with even liberal Democrats like Ted Kennedy and Russ Feingold. Now it would appear that the right-wing of the Republican Party has found a candidate to beat the Maverick in the primaries.

But that man should not be JD Hayworth.

Hayworth has made waves running against the septugenerian, claiming that McCain is no longer fit to stay in the Senate. But is Hayworth really a viable alternative?

Hayworth must be given credit for winning a seat in the House. But while he was there he was one of the worst and most nonsensical blowhards there. He was so bad he got knocked off in the 2006 elections as an incumbent. Yes, I know that there was redistricting, but he still lost to a Democrat loser.

And most of the while he was being a blowhard he was on the take from Jack Abramoff. In fact, he was the number one person in Congress taking the illicit funds. So he was the worst out of 435 crooks. That's saying something.

Hayworth wants attention and thinks that running against a moderate like McCain will help him pick up steam. Sarah Palin and Scott Brown have both blown off Hayworth and are supporting McCain. They know that McCain won't run for President or possibly another term in the Senate, but they still have JD Hayworth pegged: loser.

Is Hayworth a Birther?

The challenger to Arizona Republican Senator John McCain, JD Hayworth, may have some explaining to do. Appearing on the left-wing opinion channel MSNBC, he told left-wing host Chris Matthews that he wants to see Barack Obama's birth certificate.

The main problem is that it's been released before. Not only that, but plenty of supplementary evidence backs up the President's documented birth in Hawaii. None supports him being born outside of the US.

In addition, even though Hayworth is significantly more conservative than "Maverick" McCain, he still divides the Tea Party movement. Freedom Works, perhaps the largest of the groups, has not declared its support for Hayworth.

If Hayworth is actually a birther, he will not win the general election, even if he defeats McCain. In an increasingly Latino state, staking his reputation on such a bizarre and fanciful position will be worse that just about anything McCain can say or vote on.

Hayworth is beginning to remind me of a right-wing Alan Grayson. He says a lot of outrageous things to get attention, but is actually fragile. Say what you want about McCain, but if it's between him and a Grayson clone, count me in the McCain camp.

McCain Not Going Down Without a Fight

Politico has an interesting article about the primary between incumbent GOP Senator and former Congressman JD Hayworth. Hayworth, a former member of the House, has decided to challenge the veteran Arizona lawmaker.

But McCain isn't going down without a fight. Many have noted that Hayworth lost his reelection bid in 2000 as an incumbent and hasn't run since. Hayworth just quit his job as a radio talk show host to run for the seat.

No one really knows who will win. Stakes are on McCain right now, who has a lot to prove.

We're siding with McCain on this one. Hayworth may be more conservative, but he's too bombastic and argumentative. He's voted for massive pork-barrel spending and was cozy with convicted felon Jack Abramoff.

McCain's got Scott Brown and Sarah Palin in his corner. He's a war hero and one of the finest pro-America Senators out there right now. He's good on spending and very good on defense, the top two Republican platforms. Hayworth doesn't measure up.

And to those who say that McCain got his chance, he sure did. But that shouldn't stop him from winning again. If Hayworth gets the GOP nomination, especially in a close fight, he will likely lose the general election, giving the Dems an extra seat.
