The Pentagon is disinviting Franklin Graham.

It is being reported that the Pentagon has disinvited Evangelist Franklin Graham from a previously scheduled event during the National Day of Prayer, because one organization complained about some of Graham's past comments, who is the son of famed Evangelist and spiritual adviser to several Presidents, Billy Graham.

What could Graham have possibly said to warrant his removal? He legitimately criticized the religion of Islam after the September eleventh attacks as an "evil religion" and he also has expressed concerns about the foul treatment of Muslim women in strict Islamic dominated Nations.

I'm confused. A Christian Minister is being targeted for opposing his 1,000 year religious enemy that is Islam and for specific comments this Minister made in the direct aftermath of September eleventh, when anti-Islamic feelings were understandably heated in America.

Political correctness has struck again! America is now punishing a Christian Minister for publicly questioning and opposing the religion of Islam and its' radical elements after the September eleventh attacks, of which 3,000 American citizens dead at the hand of radical Islam.

As a Christian, as an American and as someone who questions the radical elements of Islam (all elements to be honest, considering it's my spiritual foe), I'm offended by the Pentagon's decision and disgraced. What has happened to this Nation? Acceptable opposition to different religions and understanding proper context apparently are lost arts.

On a political note: I have doubted that the Evangelical vote would remain at 30% for Barack Obama in 2012, considering the Democratic average for a Presidential candidate is 23% and Evangelicals should be in fierce opposition to the socially liberal agenda of the Administration.

After this disaster with Franklin Graham, the son of a well respected Evangelical Evangelist, I wouldn't even expect Obama to receive 20% of the Evangelical vote in 2012. I could be wrong, but we'll see in 31 months.

After Fox news bash of Canada Pentagon says invading is "a good idea"

As you may or may not know recently a Fox News show bashed Canada for saying they may pull their troops out of Afghanistan. The comments saying that Canadians are "not a smart culture" due to mounties wearing red jackets, which are easily seen in the completely snow covered lands of the north, and that they are lazy and weak. They went so far as to say that it was time for the US to invade them before Russia does so to gain acces to the US. The Canadian response to the comments was shocking as it was not known that Canadians could in fact become angry. When interviewing a large sample size of the Canadian people (3) a seemingly senile homeless Canadian veteran took the spotlight. He claimed that something called "Canadian Spirit and Courage" was equivalent to the US's military might and could stand up to any of our technology.

The Pentagon released a statement shortly after the comments aired that said, "despite our constant satellite coverage of Canada no development or storage sites of this CSC was found. It must be in a underground facility". Following this announcement the Pentagon spokesperson said that considering the secretive and suspicious nature of Canada's actions that invading Canada was "a good idea". Then General John C.B. Cande presented the U.S.'s military strategy for invading Canada. "We will drive across the border and listen to them apologize over the sound of their crushing bones under our tanks". He added, " Russia must never threaten the US or its allies."

Who Should be Obama's Secretary of Defense

There's been a lot of talk about who Barack Obama will choose to become his next Secretary of State. It may be a good idea for him to concentrate on his Secretary of Defense, too. Obama has talked about bipartisanship a great deal during the campaign, so this is his chance to demonstrate it.

Robert Gates has been a non-partisan, steady hand at the Pentagon since the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld. He has overseen the surge strategy that is decimating al Qaeda in Iraq and has been a very pragmatic secretary.

There are other candidates for the job, to be sure. However, it is up to Obama to blend both competency and bipartisanship. If Gates or someone similar is not named, then Obama's campaign promises are nil.
