Delaware and South Carolina.

Tea Partiers dislike Congressman Castle of Delaware, and Senator Graham of South Carolina. So far as to challenge Mr.Castle in Delaware's Senatorial Republican Primary. However, this creates a political situation that could end up hurting the Tea Party, hurting Republicans, and hurting all chance of winning in Delaware.

Mr.Castle is a Delaware Republican - supports cap & trade, supports socially liberal policies, and supports more Democratic positions than any other Republican in Congress. He is the RINO of the House, I know that. But I also know the state that he resides from: Delaware, the first state to support the federal Constitution, and almost the last one to support a Republican.

Mr.Castle is the only individual to win statewide office in Delaware since the early 1990's, as a member of the Republican Party. No-one else has done that, and no-one else has come close to doing that. It's true that Mr.Castle is a Republican liberal, but his opponent is a Democrat liberal, and I will take 55% Conservatism over 100% Liberalism every day of the week.

The Tea Party doesn't give a damn about what I just wrote. They want Grand Old Party scalps, and they want Ms.Christine O'Donnell, a lovely Pro-Life advocate, to be our Nominee against the Democratic Nominee, Chris Coons, who is leading Ms.O'Donnell by 7-to-10 points according to almost every poll. While at the same time: Castle leads in every poll.

So here's the situation: Mr.Castle is the only Republican that can win in Delaware, but the Tea Party is supporting a candidate that has already lost running for this seat before (2008 election against Joe Biden), and is running towards her fourth* straight electoral defeat now. There's a time for pureness and there's a time for big tents.

Senator Graham in South Carolina is a time for pureness. Michael Castle in Delaware is a time for big, big, big tents. Republicans regaining the United States Senate depends on winning every seat that we can, with the proper candidates that will bring us to the promise land.

* - Lost the 2008 US Senate Election against Senator Biden.

Haley Up Big in South Carolina

 The Republican candidate for governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, has opened a wide lead over her Democratic opponent. Haley won a huge primary victory over multiple opponents despite all of the slander leveled against her. Her victory would make her the second Indian-American governor in American history. The poll is from Rasmussen, the most accurate national pollster.

Haley (R): 52%
Sheheen (D): 36%
Other/und: 12%

Up by 16%

Haley's numbers simply show that she's cruising towards an easy victory. Not only is she above 50% but Sheheen can't even break 40%. It would also appear that all of the accusations of misdoing have not stuck and Haley's former role in the administration of Governor Mark Sanford.

Shock: Alvin Greene Losing in South Carolina Senate Race

Shock has rocked the political world as no-name Republican Jim DeMint now has a commanding lead over the over-qualified Democrat Alvin Greene.  Sure, Alvin Greene is on trial for a felony and he lives with his mother, but the 44% lead must come from left field.

In all seriousness, though, who expected anything different (other than Mr. Greene)?  Mr. DeMint has great name-recognition in the state and should *cough* consider *cough* running for President.  Mr. Greene is unemployed, is probably going to jail (from what I read), is hilariously unknown, and at 33 lives with his mother.

The only long-shot candidate that is probably going to win is our Joe.

What an amazing night to be a Conservative Republican in South Carolina:

Gubernatorial Primary - 41 of 46 counties reporting.

Nikki Haley - 212,715 - 64.64%
Gresham Barrett - 116,353 - 35.36%.

1st District House Primary - 5 of 5 counties reporting.

Tim Scott - 46,885 - 68.35%.
Paul Thurmond - 21,706 - 31.65%.

3rd District House Primary - 10 of 10 counties reporting.

Jeff Duncan - 37,300 - 51.50% of the vote.
Richard Cash - 35,129 - 48.50% of the vote.

4th District House Primary - 3 of 4 counties reporting.

Trey Gowdy - 31,110 - 63.97% of the vote.
Rep. Bob Inglis - 17,519 - 36.03% of the vote.

Nikki Haley is on her way to becoming the first female Indian-(from India)-American Governor in United States history, as well as South Carolina's first female Governor in history. And Black Republican Tim Scott defeated the son of a well known segregationist this evening, and is expected to become the first Black Republican Congressman since JC Watts in 2002.

The above mentioned victors are only the first to be announced this evening, however, both represent a new brand of Republicans in the United States; a brand that should be watched with great attention over the next several years.

Also: If Inglis is defeated, he'll become only the second US Congressmen to be kicked out of the House of Representatives this electoral cycle, and just the first Republican.

Update: Representative Bob Inglis has been defeated in his Primary against Trey Gowdy, and becomes only the second US Congressman to be defeated this electoral cycle; the first to be an elected Republican - Conservatism is on the rise my friends, in all Parties.

Tim Scott vs. Paul Thurmond - who to support?

The Republican voters of South Carolina's 1st congressional district must be pleased as punch with both of their candidates seeking the Nomination in a run-off election tomorrow; as both Tim Scott and Paul Thurmond are dedicated Conservative politicians, who will not betray our party or movement once in Congress.

However, Republicans will have to deal with the nationwide reaction to whomever they select to represent our party in November, because Paul Thurmond's father was a well known racist and segregationist in the US Senate, and Tim Scott is the first Black Republican to be elected into the South Carolina Legislature in one hundred years.

Calls of racism could erupt regardless of whom the voters select, even though race has not been mentioned once during the entire electoral process (up to now that is).

Why would racism erupt if Scott wins? Well, the media could paint a picture of Republicans only voting for Scott, because Thurmond's father was a racist, and thus selected a black man for fear of being labeled as racists. And what about if Thurmond wins? I can see the headline already: GOP selects son of White segregationist over Black Republican opponent.

End result: South Carolina Republicans will lose the media battle/war over tomorrow's run-off election, despite the fact the eventual GOP Nominee (whether it be Scott or Thurmond) will win in November, regardless of race, due to the district being a Republican stronghold.

So who should Republicans support in South Carolina?

The best candidate, based on the issues, based on November, but not based on media perception, or race. The choice will not be simple, because both candidates are thorough Conservatives dedicated to liberty.

McMaster Endorsing Haley

South Carolina Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley has received another boost as state Attorney General Henry McMaster is slated to endorse her. Haley won 49% in the GOP primary last week and expected to face a runoff. This endorsement further bolsters her credibility and lessens the chance that her primary opponent will put up a serious challenge.

However, that was not immediately clear:

The Barrett campaign has mounted an aggressive two-week runoff campaign despite calls from national Republicans for him to concede the race. Reaching 40 percent in a crowded primary is normally considered definitive, Republican operatives say. Haley had been running well ahead in the polls going into the election, but none showed her with such a commanding lead

Haley Up More than 20%

Republican Gubernatorial candidate in South Carolina Nikki Haley has jumped out to a more than 20% lead in a bid to replace disgraced governor Mark Sanford. This comes after Haley was forced into a runoff race with a SC Congressman after polling 49%.

This poll comes from Rasmussen, the most accurate of the polling firms out there. Rasmussen had the most accurate polls in the 2004 and 2008 presidential race.

Haley: 55%
Sheheen: 34%

This does come after the primaries, so Haley could have a jump from this. However, with her hard campaigning and South Carolina's conservative disposition, I expect her to win by at least 15%.

Primary Preview - June 8, 2010.

Millions of Republican voters will be selecting their candidates of choice this morning, afternoon and evening across the entire Nation. Close to a dozen states will be holding primaries today, but all political eyes will be on Arkansas, California, and Nevada; as interesting Senatorial races on both sides of the aisle will be resolved by midnight tonight.

Arkansas

Arkansas Democrats will have to choose between Senator Blanche Lincoln and Lt. Governor Bill Halter today; possibly redefining Arkansas politics. While Lt. Governor Halter is a dedicated Left-Of-Center-MoveOn.Org-fellow, Senator Lincoln is within the Arkansas Conservative Democrat mainstream.

But it really doesn't matter who Arkansas Democrats select this evening, because the Republican nominee; Congressman Boozman, leads both Halter and Lincoln by double digits in the polls. Plus Arkansas is thirsting Conservatism, and two Democratic hacks competing to be down-the-line liberals doesn't appeal to that thirst.

California

As I wrote yesterday morning: Republicans in California have to choose between electability or viability, and political purity. Do we want to win in November, or do we want to select the most Right-Of-Center nominee for November? In California you cannot have both; which is the reason why I support Whitman and Fiorina.

Democrats will also be choosing their candidate for United States Senate this afternoon; either Senator Boxer, or Mickey Kaus (blogger). This isn't actually a Liberal v. Conservative Democrat contest like it is in Arkansas or like it was in West Virginia, but the race does ask this of Left-Of-Center voters: Will they support a candidate who opposes the unions and illegal immigration in California?

Nevada

Senator Reid is on Republican and Tea Party political hit-lists, but Republicans support their former statewide Chairman; Sue Lowden, and Tea Partiers support a current Nevada state representative; Sharron Angle for the Nomination to face off against Reid. Causing problems through out the political foundations of the state.

While Ms.Lowden is almost guaranteed to defeat Senator Reid in November; the same cannot be said about Ms.Angle, who doesn't have a wink of statewide political experience, and who will be portrayed as a Libertarian nutjob too extreme for Nevada voters. With the facts and Ried's possible political ploys in mind, and with a thoughtful consideration of Ms.Lowden's Conservatism; only one candidate is worthy, and that's Sue Lowden. Period.

Other Races

Besides for the big three races tonight; political wizkids should keep an eye on the South Carolina Republican Primary, on whom North Dakota Republicans select to face off against Congressman Pomeroy, and on whether or not Republicans in Virginia's 8th district select Matthew Berry to be their nominee against Congressman Moran in November.

What The Hell is Going on In South Carolina?

All hell appears to be breaking loose in the South Carolina Republican primary, with everyone ganging up on Nikki Haley, the front-runner in the race. Haley, who was endorsed by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, is either a big flirt or the victim of a vicious smear campaign. First, she's been claimed to have had an affair with a blogger, of all people. Next, Haley, of East Indian descent, was called a "raghead" by a fellow Republican. Now there's another claim of a tryst.

"I did not have any intention of going public," Marchant said. "I kept getting calls from different people. I just felt like I owed Andre to disclose it to him. I did not do it until two days after I disclosed it to my wife." 

Marchant said part of the reason he came forward was Haley's categorical denial last week of being unfaithful to her husband. 

"It just gnawed at me to the point I had to confide in my wife and then we both made a joint decision that I was not going to push the issue but that if I was confronted, I was not going to lie about it," Marchant said. 

"It was not an affair. It was just one time," Marchant said. "It was one of those things that happened. ... We just had a one-night indiscretion." 

The one thing that Marchant's claim has is that he apparently had to 'admit' to his wife any wrongdoing. This is starting to get weird. Without evidence, there is nothing to damn Mrs. Haley with, but allegations of this magnitude should come with not only more questions but more proof.

SC Republican calls Nikki Haley a "raghead".

Senator Jake Knotts (R - South Carolina's 23rd Senatorial district) has just characterized Nikki Haley, a strong Conservative Republican woman running for the Republican Nomination in the upcoming Gubernatorial election; as a "raghead", due to her Indian heritage. I cannot describe the feelings going through my bloodstream right now.

As a supporter of Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, a fan of Dinesh D'Souza's writings, and as a person who cares more about policy than nationality; I can't believe a fellow Republican would say such a thing about Ms.Haley, a woman of Indian descent. I'm also curious as to if the Senator is aware of Haley's religion: she belongs to the Methodist Church.

Senator Knotts should have to apologize to Nikki Haley immediately, and the South Carolina Republican Party should withhold all possible financial donations his campaign would have received this upcoming election. This makes me sick; how could Republican infighting turn from honest debate to name calling and insults? Sickening. Sickening. Sickening.
