Portman, Kasich Extend Lead in Ohio

Former Bush Administration Rob Portman has extended his lead over Democratic candidate Lee Fisher in the race to replace retiring Senator George Voinovich. This is particularly bad news as the incumbent governor of the state Ted Strickland is trailing former Congressman John Kasich by more than double-digits. Fisher is the current Lt. Governor of the state and if they are both defeated it will represent the defeat of both members of the Ohio executive branch.

Ohio Governor
Kasich (R): 49%
Strickland * (D): 37%
Other/und: 14%
* Denotes incumbent

Ohio Senator:

Portman (R): 50%
Fisher (D): 37%
Other/und: 13%

Even if the undecided voters had a massive shift towards the Democrats between today and the election day they would still lose. Strickland is being blamed for the downturn in the Ohio economy and Lt. Governor Fisher appears to be hammered by it as well.

In other poll news, former Senator Mike Dewine appears poised to regain some political footing as he is leading in the race for Attorney General, but only by two. Dewine was picked off in the 2006 wave election.

Traficant Fights to Stay on Ballot

James Traficant served as a member of Congress for over a decade before being thrown out for corruption in 2002. The Democrat is attempting to make a political comeback of sorts, guesting on news programs proclaiming his innocence. He's also been locked in a battle to run for Congress again, but his road has been rocky. He was kicked off the ballot for not getting enough signatures to run as an independent. Now it seems like he just won't give up:

Traficant, an outspoken former Democratic lawmaker who was released from prison last year after serving time for his 2002 convictions on racketeering, bribery and tax evasion charges, fell 31 signatures short of the required 2,154 signatures to appear on the ballot — or 1 percent of the total number of district voters who participated in the 2006 gubernatorial election.

Traficant is attempting to unseat a fellow Democrat-- a former aide, in fact. Traficant's trial and time in prison have left him a felon, unable to vote for himself in the election.

Is Obama screwed for 2012?

The 2008 United States Presidential Election went like this:

Florida

Obama - 4,282,074 - 50.92% - 27 Electoral Votes.
McCain - 4,045,624 - 48.10% - 0 Electoral Votes.

A recent June 2010 Quinnipiac Poll sampling of 1,133 Floridians:

Obama Job Performance

Disapprove - 54% - 91% of GOP, 50% of Ind, and 14% of Dem.
Approve - 40% - 81% of Dem, 43% of Ind, and 6% of GOP.

President Barack Obama won Florida with a cushion of just 236,000 votes, or by a margin of 1.8 percentage points. And now a recent poll from a respectable polling firm has his numbers in one of the most important states at 40%. For someone who faces the voters again in 29 months; a 40% approval rating is a bad sign of worse things to come.

Imagine if these polling numbers reflect voters from across the Nation? Obama won the state of North Carolina by 14,000 votes; the state of Indiana by 29,000 votes; the state of Nevada by 120,000 votes; the state of Iowa by 140,000 voters; the state of Virginia by 230,00 votes; the state of Ohio by 260,000 votes; and he lost in Missouri by only 4,000 votes.

Losing 10% support in all of the above mentioned states would cause such a overturn of voters that it might not matter who Republicans select to be their Presidential nominee; just as long as a Republican is on the ballot. Period.

Memo to all perspective candidates for the Republican Nomination: All you need to do to win the 2012 Presidential Election is to flip about 1,056,000 votes in the seven above mentioned states, which in turn will result in 98 Electoral Votes going into our column, leaving us the victors in 2012.

Ohio Republican Primaries are Today.

Ohio Republicans will be selecting their Gubernatorial, Senatorial and Congressional candidates this morning, afternoon and evening in the Buckeye state. Republicans are poised to win back several districts (15th, 16th and 18th), retain our Senate seat and win back the Governor's house this November. Knowing that Conservatives and Republicans are hard working folks, I decided to write out this list of candidates that I support to lend a political helping hand to hard working Ohioan Republicans.

Please keep in mind that I'm a Conservative Republican, and that I will endorse a candidate who can win, even if he or she is not a 100% down-the-line Conservative.

A Major Chance to Stop Abortions in Ohio

Full disclosure: I am very biased on this subject, as I am 100% pro-life, and I believe abortion aka : murder) should be banned in all cases

Conservative Republican state representative John Adams from Ohio is proposing legislation in the state that could rattle the earth of pro-abortion zealots, and give some comfort to pro-life advocates across the Nation & State. The legislation would require for all women attempting to "abort/murder" their unborn child, to get written approval from the father of the child.

This bill would also enact harsh fines on those that do not follow this law.

Considering American men are far more pro-life then their female counterparts, and if this legislation can save at least one unborn child from death by selfishness, this legislation should 100% be put forth. For once, if this legislation passes, the fathers of America will have the chance to stand up for their unborn children - hopefully the first step towards outlawing abortion altogether.

Great news for America, and hopefully for the next generation of Americans saved by this legislation, if this legislation passes, and if America's fathers are as pro-life as I hope they are.
