Should Conservatives forgive, forget and fight for Anh Cao?

Let's be honest.

All we need this November is to win 39 currently Democratic controlled seats in order to install John Boehner as the new Speaker of the House, as well as to hold on to what few vulnerable Republican seats are out there.

Among those we need to retain in order to reach the magic number of 218 is Anh Cao's seat in New Orleans, which he barely captured in 2008 when he was running against Representative William "cold cash" Jefferson, who is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence over those same corruption charges that Cao beat him over.

Anh "Joseph" Cao - 33,132 - 49.58%.
Rep. Bill Jefferson - 31,318 - 46.83%.
Other Candidates - 02,432 - 03.64%.

Since his amazing upset victory in a district that supported Barack Obama with 73% of it's inner-city vote just a few weeks before the runoff election, Congressman Cao has voted with Party leaders 82% of the time. Though he did cause much anguish when he initially voted for Obama's health care package last November, basing his vote solely on abortion coverage within the legislation, which led him to later oppose* the legislation in it's second trip through the House.

So do we bury the hatchet with Mr.Cao, or do we focus on gaining 40 Democratic seats instead of 39? Here's a sample of Cao's voting record on some of the more well known legislative items that have come before the House over the past 20 months (keep in mind his district voted for Obama with 73% of the vote):

Cap & Trade/Tax - Nay.
Obamacare (Nov.) - Aye.

Wall Street (Jun.) - Aye.

Here's what we know about Mr.Cao: He supports the Military and our War on Terror, he's very pro-life, his record on economic issues is mixed, and he'll be a definite vote for John Boehner for House Speaker. Not the record of Eric Cantor, but still acceptable for a man from a district that is almost as Democratic as Nancy Pelosi's.

I forgive Mr.Cao for his initial support of ObamaCare, I've forgotten some of his liberal stances, and I will fight for Anh Cao to win reelection against his just nominated Liberal Democrat opponent this October. What about you?

Chart of the Day - Deficits With & Without Iraq War.

What does this chart from the American Thinker tell us?

1. The 7 year Iraqi War never really impacted our National Deficit.

2. Deficit spending under President Bush decreased 50% in 5 years.

3. Congressional Democrats ballooned the Deficit in just 3 Budget's.

4. Bush's Tax cuts almost balanced the budget, despite big spending.

We all know that President Bush was a spender, and that the Republican controlled Congress was more inclined to go along with his spending. But as you can clearly see in the chart above: That spending was not really impacting the deficit, Bush's tax cuts were filling the coffers of the federal government, and if it wasn't for Clinton's failed housing scheme, America would probably be in solid fiscal health at this moment.

What say you?

P.S. - You can tell Bush's tax cuts were filling the federal government's coffers by taking into account the increased spending, yet the decreasing deficit.

Memo to Sarah Palin: Keep Todd at Distance.

Sarah Palin is a Conservative Republican. No questions asked.

Her husband, Todd Palin? That's another story altogether.

Mr.Palin was registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party for seven years (1995 through 2002), and though this wasn't a huge issue during the 2008 election, it does speak some volumes as to what Mr.Palin politically believes. You see, the AIP was founded as an very extreme pro-secessionist organization by Joe Vogler, and though their membership has moderated from that original stance over the decades, many within have not, which lead to Governor Hickel leaving the party back in 1994.

Did you get that? A year after Governor Hickel left the Party (he was and is the only Governor to ever be elected in Alaska on a third party ticket), due to lingering secessionists attempting to have another vote on Alaskan statehood, Todd Palin became a voting member of the Party, and only left in July of 2002, when his wife was running for the GOP Nomination in the Lt. Governor race.

Keep in mind that this post has nothing to do with Sarah Palin. I love the woman, I believe she is a damn fine American, and would definitely vote for her to become our 45th President of the United States, but she should keep her husband at arm's length when endorsing/supporting candidates. As a lot of potential Democratic and Republican opponents could use Todd Palin's questionable background to destroy a whole bastion of Republican candidates who Sarah Palin endorsed.

So I have this memo for Governor Palin: Keep Todd at a Distance when supporting Republicans for public office, and please do not let him publicly endorse/support the candidates that you do, as I can guarantee that smart opponents, whether they be Democrat or Republican, will only go after the endorsed candidate, and your husband as anti-american loons.

The power of George W. Bush.

I've come to the conclusion that former President George W. Bush is the most powerful man in the entire world, and he doesn't even know it. Over the past few years I've heard that George W. Bush, who seems just like a regular guy from Texas, has used his superman powers to cause hurricanes, earthquakes, and even snowstorms.

The power of hick Texans is astronomical!

When President George W. Bush left the White House 18 months ago, most expected his superman powers, besides for causing Al Gore to divorce Tipper, would be of no further use. However, it appears the superman President has a new weapon to wreck havoc in the world:

That's right! According to some Conservative bloggers, the pre-release "leakings" of his Book to the Main Stream Media will cause Republican candidates across the Nation to lose, because just the mention of the superman President will cause fear to spread across the US and will send all voters back to the Hope and Change Express.

I'm not kidding, some members of the Conservative blogosphere are actually accusing George W. Bush of planning to release information to the Press regarding his memoir/book before the mid-term elections, in order to hurt Republican chances at the voting booth.

Paranoia or what?

Goodness! George W. Bush is a lifelong Republican, and trust me, he is more than aware of the fact that Republican candidates will be distancing their campaigns from him, even though polls have indicated Bush's approval rating has gone up from basement levels, voters are split 50-50 as to whether America would be better with a Bush or Obama White House, and billboards with Bush's face have appeared across the Nation in support of him.

If Republicans fail to recapture the House this November, it's their fault, not President Bush's.

Blakeman closer to gaining GOP Nomination.

Bruce Blakeman, a staunch Conservative candidate running for the Republican Nomination in New York State; in order to challenge Senator Gillibrand this November in our special election, moved one giant step closer to becoming the official GOP Nominee earlier this afternoon at the New York State Republican Convention.

Mr.Blakeman first announced his Senatorial campaign back on January 17th, after perspective Republican candidates; Governor Pataki, Mayor Giuliani and Congressman King included, all decided against seeking the GOP Nomination to challenge Ms.Gillibrand. Leaving Mr.Blakeman, the former presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature, as the lone Republican candidate for several weeks.

Eventually a former Congressman from the eighties, and a national economist entered the race as well; forcing a "County Chairman endorsement" tug-of-war across GOP Committees over the past several months, as well as a looming Republican Primary in September. But, the former commissioner of the Port Authority of New Jersey and New York; Bruce Blakeman, has remained on top, and reaffirmed his front runner position earlier this afternoon.

NYGOP Convention Results:

Blakeman - 51.42%. Malpass (national economist) - 39.61%. DioGuardi (Congressman from the eighties) - 8.98%. While Blakeman did not receive enough Delegate votes to avoid facing Malpass in what will be a tough Primary election, he did receive a outright majority of GOP delegates and Committees; a very good sign for September.

Mr.Blakeman is the proud Uncle of an American Hero who perished on September Eleventh; refusing to leave the Towers until everyone was out. He understands the Islamist Terrorist threat that is directly facing the United States of America, and indirectly facing the Western world as a whole.

He's now one step closer to receiving the GOP Nomination to challenge Senator Gillibrand in the Fall. And in my humble, but biased opinion; no-other man is more deserving of receiving the GOP Nomination in September, than Bruce Blakeman; a man who really, really gets it.

Utah GOP Convention Update.

Senator Bob Bennett has survived the First Round of voting at the Utah Republican Convention, placing third in a crowded field of 8 candidates for the Senatorial Nomination. According to a just published article on the Utah GOP blog, none of the three leading Republican candidates for the Nomination received 30% of the vote, setting up an interesting second round of voting.

First Round Voting Results:

Mike Lee - 982 votes - 28.75%
Tim Bridgewater - 917 votes - 26.84%
Senator Bennett - 885 votes - 25.91%
Cherilyn Eager - 541 votes - 15.84%
Other candidates - 91 votes - 2.66%

Mike Lee, Tim Bridgewater and Senator Bennett have made their final appeals to the 632 votes cast for the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth place candidates. Senator Bennett is placing all of his eggs into his "seniority" basket, I hope that's enough, but we shall see.

4:07 PM Update

Second Round voting in Utah is over; close to 3,500 Republican voters are holding their breath waiting for the results, and Senator Bennett is confident about his chances of finishing second and forcing a Primary election in June. I must admit one thing: If Cherilyn Eager wanted to become a rich woman, she would've offered her leverage of 541 votes for a nice position in DC. I congratulate her for not doing so.

Congressman Burton holds on in Indiana.

Congressman Dan Burton is one of the most Conservative legislators in Washington, but half-a-dozen fellow Republicans believed 28 years of service was more than enough. Leading the charge against Dan Burton was Luke Messer and John McGoff (who challenged Burton last election as well), but the 28 year Washington Veteran survived the challenge, but just barely.

Luke Messer - 25,117 - 25.8%
John McGoff - 19,069 - 19.5%
Brose McVey - 8,795 - 9.0%
Mike Murphy - 8,576 - 8.8%
Andy Lyons - 3,670 - 3.7%

Total votes - 97,666 - 100%

If political commentators and wizkids were shocked by Dan Coats winning the Nomination with just 40% of the vote, what about Congressman Dan Burton, who has a three decades strong and long record of Conservatism, winning the Nomination with just 30% of the vote last night.

Dan Coats winning the Nomination with 40% of the vote is expected, but Dan Burton winning the Nomination with just 30% of the vote is shocking, considering his amazing congressional record. I for one believe this reflects a misguided attitude in some Conservatives - Not all Incumbents and Establishment candidates are bad, or even evil to be honest.

I'm glad Congressman Burton will be heading to Congress for his fifteenth term, even though I believe in Term Limiting Congressmen and Senators alike, this man has represented our values and agenda through four different Administrations. However, Conservative Republican incumbents should research this race closely, because the anti-Washington movement is causing a few good men to be targets of fellow good men, for no good reason.

Indiana GOP: Coats is Nominee.

Indiana Republicans selected their candidate-of-choice this evening; the former US Senator Dan Coats, who was appointed to the Senate after Dan Quayle was elected Vice-President, but has been retired from public office for 12 years. I hesitated when deciding whether or not to endorse Dan Coats or Marlin Stutzman, but I chickened out and endorsed Don Bates Jr* in the end.

Dan Coats - 187,872 votes.
Marlin Stutzman - 142,749 votes.
John Hostettler - 99,896 votes.
Don Bates Jr - 21,283 votes.
Richard Behney - 20,639 votes.
Total - 472,439 Republican votes.

With the hard fought Primary battle over in Indiana, all Republicans and Conservatives must unite behind Dan Coats in November for one reason or another: Numero Uno being we need nine or ten Democratic seats to flip "Republican" to regain control, and thus power. Some might disagree with Coats on a few issues, but no candidate is perfect, and I would prefer the better of the two evils, instead of the evilest anyday, anytime.

* - I know, I know. I endorsed Don Bates Jr. for United States Senate, even though the man had no chance in hell of winning, but John Adams once declared that voting for who you believe will do the right job is not a wasted vote, unless of course, it is, or something like that.

Indiana Republican Primaries on Tuesday.

Indiana Republicans will be selecting their favored candidates across the state on Tuesday; with local Republicans running in all nine of Indiana's congressional districts and several running to replace Evan Bayh in the United States Senate. The District, Puerto Rico, and Felons, oh my.

The debate over Puerto Rico is heating up; as the United States House of Representatives passed the Puerto Rico Democracy Act this evening, advancing the legislation to the United States Senate, where passage is less certain. I support Puerto Rico becoming our 51st State, but several parts of the proposed legislation I just cannot support, and thus I oppose it as written.

Some are calling this a "voting scheme" by Democrat Representatives to guarantee their power for decades upon decades. It's true that Democrats are pushing hard for the District of Columbia to receive "state like" congressional voting rights, which is unconstitutional, and that Democrats want felons to vote, but Puerto Rico is a different situation altogether.

Puerto Rico would actually represent an unprecedented expansion for Republicans. Just to make sure those who read this article understand: The admission of Puerto Rico as our 51st State would help Congressional Republicans, not Congressional Democrats. Call me crazy, but Puerto Rico is a well known bastion of social conservatism, and their popular Governor is a union fighting Republican.

Let us straighten a few things out:

1. Puerto Rico should become our 51st State. Period.

2. Puerto Rico is not a Democratic controlled Commonwealth.

3. Puerto Rico does pay some federal taxes.

4. Puerto Rico would become our third bilingual State.

What would it take for me to support this legislation?

1. Constitutional Convention over Plebiscites.

2. Only citizens vote for Representatives to Convention.

3. Puerto Rico's decision must be approved by Congress.

I have deep respect for the citizens of Puerto Rico who want statehood, I can appreciate that, and for the politicians who want statehood as well, including the Conservative New Progressive Party. However, the current legislation is unacceptable and it will subvert Democracy, as in the words of Congressman McClintock.

I also want to remind Conservatives who oppose Puerto Rico Statehood on several false and insulting grounds, that Puerto Rico will represent a massive bastion of new Republican voters who will be searching for a pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-school choice, anti-tax party. Which political party would suit those needs again?

Just 22% of Americans are "straight line" voters.

When Glenn Beck, a well known Libertarian radio and television talk show host, described the voting patterns of America as 15% beholden to Republicans, 15% beholden to Democrats, and 70% open to other candidates, he was deadwrong. To be honest, those numbers touted by Glenn Beck are too generous, according to a recent poll.

The April 2010 Battleground Poll asked 1,000 registered voters a series of political, religious and ideological questions. One of which dealt with voting patterns, and which party had the voters supported during recent elections.

The results are interesting:

Straight GOP - 10%.
Mostly GOP - 21%.
More GOP than DEM - 12%.
Independent/the person - 5%.
More DEM than GOP - 11%.
Mostly DEM - 24%.
Straight DEM - 12%.
Unsure/Refused - 6%.

Just 22% of American voters are strictly beholden to either political party, and 23% of voters favor their "perspective" party by a relative "more than" margin. Considering our polarized political system, it's hard to imagine that 67% of admitted American voters have supported candidates from either party.

This doesn't mean that the perfect candidate (if there ever was such a thing) could receive 75% plus of the nationwide vote, but it does explain why some Northern Republicans and Southern Democrats can win by substantial margins. In a state like New York or even Tennessee, the voters are not afraid of electing "moderates" from the traditionally opposite party.

Though irrelevant on a national scale, it does confirm Glenn Beck's point that most Americans are not "down the party line" voters or individuals, unlike me and 22% of the electoral populace.

Further more, when "Independent" and "unknown/refused" voters are removed from the equation, 48% of voters have a pattern of somewhat supporting Republicans, while 52% of voters have a pattern of somewhat supporting Democrats. Leaving America with 5 to 11% of the electoral populace who hold ultimate power come election day, confirming Karl Rove's estimation of "Independent" voters.

Obama to Consult Magic 8 Ball for Afghanistan Strategy

WASHINGTON- Amidst growing pressure to declare a comprehensive plan for the war in Afghanistan, President Obama has made an unexpected decision: using a childhood toy to decide what to do with major policies.

The toy, a Magic 8 ball given to him when he was nine, is still usable, the President said in a press conference on Sunday night. "You see," President Obama explained, "you ask the ball a question and shake it like so." The President then shook the ball he had at his podium.

"Uh oh, it says ask again later," the President concluded.

In a press release, the White House detailed how the toy would be used, and how exactly the President came to his decision to use it.

The President has grown despondent to Republican leaders, the release states. Escaping for a break in his home town, the President happened upon a childhood gift that had brought him years of joy, and had helped decisions he made in the Senate. He brought it back to Washington.

The press release continues that, when asked a hard question "by a general or official," the President would defer the question to the ball. "It helps us two ways," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs stated on Monday. "First, we get the action that many pundits and politicians have been waiting for. Second, if a plan goes awry, we can blame the Magic 8 ball for making a bad decision.

"It's win-win," Gibbs added.

So far, in questions regarding the strategy in Afghanistan have produced mix results. According to Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, the President has asked the toy many hard hitting questions.

"Whenever the President asks about troop increases or how long to stay in the war, the ball response in some sort of gray area," Clinton reported. "President Obama asked the ball several times if he should listen to generals or go with his gut, but it responded twice "All signs point to Yes," and once "Concentrate and ask again."

"On the bright side, we are going some consistency with some questions," Clinton continued. "Whenever we ask 'Will republicans ever like us,' it always says "Outlook not so good.""

Just Keeps Getting Worse

It was bad enough when we had Republicans who wanted to grant citizenship to millions of criminals, who illegally crossed our borders, took our jobs, and a good portion - are just plain dirty criminals who have ended up in prison. All illegals should be kicked out of this Nation, that would not only restore our laws to have some meaning, free up millions of jobs, but would save states billions of dollars a year.

So what are the Democrats proposing in Congress? They not only want to grant amnesty, and officially have the United States become a Nation of one party rule, but they want to give all 12 million + illegals in the United States health care. That's right, the messed up, big government, socialistic, jackasses want to waste even more money on those that don't belong here.

Now I am against this health care package for a long list of reasons, however this should be one of the highest for everyone - the fact, our government wants to spend even more money on this criminals who are for some unknown reason celebrated by the Democrat party. Some in the party even claim that illegally coming to the United States is not a crime, HELLO?!

Its bad enough the Democrats want to break our own laws, give criminals citizenship, and establish one party rule in America. Do we really need to add this health care bullcrap in top of it, where not only does it destroy our health care system, it will once more pander to the criminals from the Nation of Mexico.

When will it stop?

When will we finally have enough voices in Congress who will pass real health care reform - TORT reform, which has been 100% proven to work in the great state of Mississippi, instead of ruining the entire system, and destroying Capitalism in America. When will we have enough voices to close our borders, to deport the illegals, and finally have our Borders, Immigration standards, our laws, and our sovereignty restored? I hope soon, for the sake of America.

Stimulus passes Congress, Republicans stand united.

Besides the fact this "spending" package will not fix anything, does not target the needed areas, will only expand government, no-one has had the time to read this massive bill to check for more pork or overnight measures shoved into the bill, it has passed in the United States House of Representatives. Luckily all voting Republicans we're united in their opposition to this bill, and a few brave Democrats joined us.

In the Senate, 38 Republicans have voted no, 3 cutthroats have betrayed America, Conservatism, and the Republican party, and one member gets back from his Mothers wake at 10:30, it will officially pass the United States Senate.

This was the wrong bill to be passed. And this will not fix anything.

I stand united yesterday, today, and tomorrow against this piece of anti-american,anti constitutional, anti-conservative piece of legislation.
