Chart of the Day - Deficits With & Without Iraq War.

What does this chart from the American Thinker tell us?

1. The 7 year Iraqi War never really impacted our National Deficit.

2. Deficit spending under President Bush decreased 50% in 5 years.

3. Congressional Democrats ballooned the Deficit in just 3 Budget's.

4. Bush's Tax cuts almost balanced the budget, despite big spending.

We all know that President Bush was a spender, and that the Republican controlled Congress was more inclined to go along with his spending. But as you can clearly see in the chart above: That spending was not really impacting the deficit, Bush's tax cuts were filling the coffers of the federal government, and if it wasn't for Clinton's failed housing scheme, America would probably be in solid fiscal health at this moment.

What say you?

P.S. - You can tell Bush's tax cuts were filling the federal government's coffers by taking into account the increased spending, yet the decreasing deficit.

The Utah Model for the Federal Government?

The leaders of the Utah State Senate have penned an interesting proposal to the folks at the Washington Post. They propose having Utah taking care of its own entitlements-- and having the state keep its tax money.

We don't believe that 535 members of Congress and the president can educate our children, provide health care, pave our roads and protect our environment as well as the nation's 8,000 state legislators and tens of thousands of local officials.

So please, let us help. Let's select a few programs -- say, education, transportation and Medicaid -- that are managed mostly by Utah's government, but with significant federal dollars and a plethora of onerous federal interventions and regulations.

Obama Doubling Federal Employees

Under the direction of the Obama Administration and Congress, the number of federal employees is set to double to over two million.

This comes after even Bill Clinton helped Congressional Republicans to reduce the federal payroll by over 300,000 in the late 1990s. The federal payroll has been virtually unchanged at about 1.2 million for over twenty years. However, President Obama is padding his $3.8 trillion budget with these extra employees.

True, some are DHS and Department of Defense members, but many are assuredly bureaucrats and ideologues. The fact that many, if not most, will be unionized will strengthen the role of big labor in everyday federal workings.

Where are we getting this money from?

Biden Takes Second Job at Applebee's to Help Reduce Deficit

Michele Chang
Conservative News and Reporting
'News for the Rest of Us'

WASHINGTON- Exclusive
Vice President Joseph Biden has been spied working a second job at an Arlington, VA Applebee's. This incredible information comes as the Vice President is attempting to help bridge the nation's budget deficit by bringing in $9.30 an hour plus tips.

"I know that all of us, all Americans are struggling." said Biden in a phone interview, "And I knew that I had to do my part to help us. That's why I work double-shifts six days a week here, acting as both a short-order cook and a waiter."

The Vice President took the job after the 2009 federal deficit was estimated at $1.75 trillion dollars. Biden's work at the restaurant is estimated to reduce that deficit by almost $300 per week.

Other members of the Washington establishment are working to do their parts. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been mopping floors at the Pentagon, while Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) has been advising the ACLU.

"This is a great idea," said Biden, "'Cause I'm a great guy. Stuff I'm learning here I'm going to use at the White House. Look out, America."

Biden also stated that he can now make "one mean grilled-cheese sandwich."

Obama to Slash Special Olympics Funding

Conservative News And Reporting
"News for the Rest of Us"
Geoffrey Likeson

WASHINGTON-- Upon returning from his trip to the West Coast last week, President Obama is looking to head back to business. His agenda includes pushing for a new Omnibus spending package, new EPA regulations, and an increase of forces in Afghanistan.

One proposal that has not been publicized is his controversial plan to gut federal funding to the Special Olympics. Some estimates from the Governmental Accountability Office (GAO) place this cut at around 70%.

These cuts come as the President has stated that he is committed to "reducing government waste." Formed in 1968, the Special Olympics has served as an avenue of success for the developmentally disabled and their parents. US Federal funding provides up to 70% of the budget for the American branch of the Olympics.

"Such a cut would be devastating." said Jason Ketchum, a lawyer for the developmentally disabled. "We might have to cancel the games for the first time in forty years."

The reasoning behind the cut is unknown, but Senator Obama stated that the Special Olympics was "not conducive to a successful society." State Senator Obama was also chastised in 2006 when in his campaign for the US Senate he called his opponent, Alan Keyes, "a mongoloid."

These cuts would amount to $20 million in savings for US taxpayers, or about what the President has asked for in additional funding for foreign-based abortions, or less than one-seventh of federal bailout money going to give bonuses to AIG officials. It is also reported that the White House is calling for the state governments to cut on funding for the Special Olympics, which would further reduce their budget by 50%.

"I don't understand," said Ketchum, "This should be a crime."

4 trillion dollar budget.

I write an article every day during the work week, I cover every political topic from the Conservative perspective that I can, sometimes I have so many topics - but so few articles to articulate my feelings. One subject I have not been able to discuss is Obama's 4 trillion dollar budget! This budget includes massive tax raises, massive tax reduction cut (like, you use to get a tax reduction if you donated to charity, not anymore!), government run healthcare clauses, etc. You name the Democrat drool bucket of all they have wanted, its in there.

Not only is this wrong on so many levels, but spending 4 trillion dollars during a horrible economic recession is just stupid in itself! Spending does not resolve recessions! THEY EXTEND THEM! The Congressional Budget Office, admitted that it would have been better if we did nothing instead of passing the massive pork spending act of 2009.

It just tears me up inside.

Question : When will Obama stop blaming Bush for all of our problems?
Followup question : How much into the term, will this finally become the Obama recession?
One last question : When can cartoonists, columnists, and jokers of all shorts - be able to finally make fun of Obama because of his idiotic economic decisions, without being called "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISTS!"
