The NRA cares about Guns.

The National Rifle Association is in operation and existence for just one specific reason: To defend every single Americans' Right to Keep and to Bear Arms for all legitimate uses, nothing else. Sure, those at the NRA care about the War on Terror, some first amendment issues, and occasionally dabble into media bias, but it's guns or nothing for them.

So when I heard the NRA made a deal with Democrats to secure their multi-million member organization an exemption in the new campaign finance legislation, it didn't disappoint me or surprise me, though a good number of Conservatives have condemned the second amendment organization, for securing an lone exemption.

What's the big deal?

The NRA is a single-issue organization, devoted to the expansion of gun rights in America, and another campaign finance law would hinder newfound pro-gun right freedoms of expression, so why take a chance with the legislation passing, when an exemption can be secured? Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Over 4 million Americans belong to the NRA for Second Amendment rights, not Constitutional rights; there is a big difference. I belonged to the NRA for twelve months (I plan on rejoining in August or perhaps September), and I don't expect anything else but support and defense for guns, guns and more guns, neither should you.

I oppose the new campaign finance legislation with or without the current NRA exemption, but we should not condemn the NRA for attempting to only protect the second amendment, through any means possible.

Sotomayor: Gun Ownership "Unconstitutional"

President Obama has made a bold choice to replace Supreme Court Justice David Souter with Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Ms. Sotomayor, if confirmed, would be the first Hispanic Justice and would be only the third woman on the Court.

Sotomayor's resume is impressive, including a 1993 ruling in favor of a homeless man beaten by NYPD officers and her landmark decision in 2002 regarding terrorism suspects. In that case, she determined that suspects captured on the battlefield must receive all rights afforded to American citizens under the Constitution. Her controversial decision was later overturned by an Appellate Court, but still influenced current policy.

Sotomayor is a graduate from Princeton University, where her legal theses included Race in the American Classroom, and Undying Injustice: American "Exceptionalism" and Permanent Bigotry, and Deadly Obsession: American Gun Culture. In this text, the student Sotomayor explained that the Second Amendment to the Constitution did not actually afford individual citizens the right to bear arms, but only duly conferred organizations, like the military. Instead of making guns illegal, she argues that they have been illegal for individuals to own since the passing of the Bill of Rights.

Ms. Sotomayor's story is certainly one of success over adversity. Despite growing up in the projects, she has risen to become one of the most well-respected legal minds by the American left. Before joining the appeals court, Sotomayor was a legal consultant for the NYCLU.

Even with her meteoric rise, the nominee still believes there is work to do. In a 1999 interview with a local author, Sotomayor stated that she believed that the United States, "...may never truly be fixed. Racism and economic warfare still crush the dreams of countless second-class citizens. The unfair dimensions of our culture are staggering. You cannot succeed if you are born poor; you simply cannot."

The nomination is expected to go before the United States Senate where Republicans may give a strong fight against what may be considered "judicial activism."

The Silent Revolution

No, it's not going to become apparent for most of us anytime soon. No, it's not violent or filled with hate and tales of vengeance.

But it is happening.

Our country is becoming the conservative, small-government nation that we have always known it to be. We are finally beginning to express ourselves.

But how can this be? For months we've been told that a profound shift has brought us to the left, that Barack Obama's election has been a great victory for 'progressivism.'

First, we are becoming a pro-life nation. For the first time in Gallup polling history, a majority of Americans have declared themselves pro-life. Why is this? No one can exactly put their finger on it. Perhaps black Americans, which have the highest rate of abortions in the country, have determined that if Obama can make it in our 'racist' society, so can their children. Or perhaps the country as a whole has tired of the idea that a person can go get pregnant and *poof* get a magical "cure."

In addition, Americans are just not buying the cookie-cutter anti-Bush arguments being proffered by the left. The country is almost evenly split over whether or not the Bush administration was justified in waterboarding two terrorism suspects. A large majority do not believe there should be a criminal investigation regarding it. Many do not buy the idea that transferring terrorists from Guantanamo will make us safer.

Trust in the Democrats also appears to be falling. Many do not believe Nancy Pelosi's rapidly changing tale that she 'did not know' about waterboarding. Instead, she's looking more and more like a liar. Scandals like Blago and Pelosi have helped rebrand the House Speaker's famous phrase, the "culture of corruption."

Even the left's stalwart scare tactic, global warming has lost traction.

While the number of Americans who believe in global warming has dropped, a sizable majority believes it exists: 69 percent in the latest poll, which is down from 82 percent in 2007 and 77 percent in 2005.

Americans have also seen the excesses of spending caused by Obama and realize that this may only be the beginning. Obama has made President Bush look like a spendthrift and we're already over a $1 trillion extra in debt since January 1st.

So what does all this mean? A Republican sweep in 2012? Maybe not. The media's still portraying Obama as our last hope and savior. But this does mean that we're not out of it yet, and since we're underestimated, we still may come out on top.

Step One in the Effort to Limit Guns

Well, it's begun. We finally got our right to own assault weapons back thanks to President Bush in 2004 and now it looks like that's about to end. Perhaps the next step will be the banning of handguns or guns to the elderly.

President Obama is looking to reinstate the assault weapons ban, which could be seen as one step towards the limitation of private gun ownership. Unfortunately, it appears that these plans could easily go through Congress within the next year.

In the article, one of the defenses of this new policy is that it would reduce crime in Mexico. However, it stands to reason that the vast majority of assault weapons used by Mexican drug cartels are not bought legally. In addition, how many could come from the United States when it is entirely possible that they could get stockpiles of AK-47s from former Latin American hotspots like Colombia, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

In addition, Americans on the southern border who are armed are better able to defend themselves if problems arise. In addition, if we actually got the southern border fence completed, we wouldn't have to worry as much about the Cartels.

In any case, the arming of a population is one of the greatest checks against tyranny. Stalin and Hitler both restricted gun ownership in some of their earliest acts. While I don't think that our government is doing this, it could be used as precedence fifty years from now to ban all firearms.

So if you were thinking about purchasing an AK or an AR-15, I'd say go do it today. Who knows when hunting rifles will be the next ban by an overzealous government.

So write your Congressmen and Senators and let them know that this is one step that we are not willing to take.

The Second Amendment is one of the most important portions of the Constitution. Maybe we should all remember that.

Million gunowners march, gaining strength.

Several months ago, I wrote an article on the increasing support spreading through out the entire Internet, calling for a million gunowners march, for us pro-second amendment Patriots to send a loud and clear message to Washington D.C.

Two months later.

The most anti-second amendment President of the United States is in office. The most anti-second amendment Attorney General, is in office. Anti-gun legislation has been proposed in both states and federal legislatures, luckily - all have been defeated to this point, in fact pro-gun legislation is winning across the United States.

Still, there are those of us who want a large demonstration of fellow pro-second amendment Americans to march on Washington D.C., just to show these anti-gunners we are here, and in large numbers.

Obviously someone agrees with that viewpoint, as an group has been launched on the Internet, to start gaining American support for a march on Washington next spring, much to the pleasure of myself and fellow pro-second amendment Conservatives.

The movement has gained the support of thousands in a short amount of time, it also appears the organizers are in communication with pro-second amendment activist, and rockstar Ted Nugent, all though nothing has been agreed to as of this afternoon, the presence of Mr.Nugent along would skyrocket attendance and support.

While I cannot personally guarantee I would participate in the direct marching, I can assure fellow Conservatives I am 100% in favor of this movement to finally show ourselves in large numbers and principle to the leftist anti-second amendment 111th United States Congress.

I call on all able bodied Conservatives to visit the second amendment website, and help in any which way you can. Whether it be in direct march, or in morale support of some sort. As, we need to finally stand up for what is right, our precious right to bear arms, as protected by the United States Constitution.

Guns to Be Banned for Elderly

Deputy Attorney General Designate David Ogden is circulating a draft of an executive order in which, among other things, firearms possession would be severely limited to people over 60.

An assistant to Ogden told us, "It appears that in these changing times, it is no longer necessary to allow the elderly to be armed. With all of their physical ailments and increasing senility, to leave them in control of a deadly weapon would be ludicrous."

While the Executive Order may sound too powerful, experts in Constitutional law state that it is not actually un-Constitutional.

"It's a question of wording." states Columbia Law Professor, Dr. John Braxton. "The Constitution forbids the Congress, that is, the legislative branch, from passing any laws infringing on gun ownership. The executive branch is not included in this proviso. As long as the Congress doesn't get involved, it's technically a non-issue."

The Justice Department was tossing the idea of a gun ban for seniors during the Carter and Clinton Administration, but public opinion stopped these initiatives. Now, the Obama White House believes differently.

An unnamed aide close to Ogden agreed to talk on the condition of anonymity.

"Clinton and Carter didn't have as much of a mandate as President Obama. They were both Southerners, and the Second Amendment was sacrosanct to their constituents. However, President Obama comes from a new sort of politics, where divisive issues like firearms do not apply to him."

"Quite frankly, it's a shame that no one has had the good conscience to have done this already. It's a simple process, and the majority of the American people will understand it and follow the law."

The enforcement mechanism for this particular executive order has not been published. It is likely that the confiscation of weapons will be similar to Great Britain's handgun ban, in which citizens willingly gave the weapons to police.

It is expected that the executive order will be given around July 1, when senior-related gun deaths reach their peaks.

The aide to Ogden stated: "For eight years you see the rolling back of regulation, and crime has skyrocketed. In fact, in Massachusetts alone, murders have risen 50% since 2002. Armed robbery has also risen dramatically. With such circumstances, we must act boldly."

Why I Own a Gun

I was reading a book about the Vichy Regime which ruled France between 1940-1944. The regime was an ally of Hitler and one of its worst crimes was helping in the extermination of the Jews. Below is one of the accounts of someone lucky enough to survive the Holocaust. Remember, one of Hitler's first acts was to take away the guns. So be thankful for your firearms and the right to have them.

In March or April, 1944, we got the dreaded notice that we had been selected for resettlement farther east. The train cars they took us in were actually cattle cars. We entered the cars and sat on our baggage. There was not very much room between us and the roof of the cattle car. Our car had from 80 to 100 people in it so it was quite crowded. We were sifting tight on tight. We had some water and some food but no comfort whatsoever. The cars were sealed. We could not open them from the inside. The w indows were small, open rectangles. Perhaps we could have jumped off the train and run into the countryside, but we did not know ff anyone on the outside would help us. We thought most civilians would probably turn us in. We could not speak the Czech lang uage. It seemed better to go along with the SS and do what they wanted. By that time the war had been going on four or five years. We thought the end might be in sight and we would be liberated.

Our train left the ghetto at six o'clock in the evening. At night as we traveled, we heard gun shots. We did not know why these shots were fired. After the war, I learned the SS troops were on the roofs of the cattle cars shooting past the windows todiscourage people from sticking their heads out. The train was moving at a fairly great speed. We did not know what country we were going through. There was no stopping.

At four o'clock the next afternoon, we arrived in Auschwitz (Ow- Switch) in Poland. When the train stopped, we again thought of trying to escape. But we knew that in Germany most Germans would turn us over to the local authorities for a reward of money or food. We had no way of knowing ff the Poles would be any differe nt. Someone would have to hide us or bring us food. We had no money to pay for our keep. So in the end, to keep our family together, we dropped any plans of attempting to escape.

The doors of the cattle car were yanked opened. The first thing we heard was shouts of, "Out, as soon as you can, out. Your belongings you leave therel" Despite this we grabbed what we could and assembled outside. Before us stood an immense rectangleof land surrounded by electrically-charged barbed wire. This was the Auschwitz death camp.
