8 Republicans decide to stand against Israel.

87 US Senators and 322 US Representatives have signed, sealed and delivered two separate letters in support of Israel to President Obama. The letters reaffirm the strong bonds between Israel and America, Congressional support of Israel's right to self defense, and it also calls on the President to veto any and all anti-Israel resolution's proposed in the UN.

The fact that 87% of the Senate, and close to 75% of the House support Israel is quite amazing, especially when there are groups within both political Parties that oppose Israel for one idiotic reason or another. Which brings up a disturbing topic from the letters - Republicans who were not signatories:

Senator Jim Bunning.
Senator Judd Gregg.
Rep. Charles Boustany.
Rep. Jimmy Duncan.
Rep. Darrell Issa.
Rep. Walter Jones.
Rep. Ron Paul.
Rep. Tom Petri.

I don't expect pro-Israel statements from Duncan, Jones, or Paul, but what's the problem with Bunning, Gregg, Boustany, Issa, and Petri?

I would like to ask that all American voters who support Israel: contact the above mentioned Republican Legislators, and give them hell over their anti-Israel stance. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Alliances are formed to be kept and honored, not broken.

Interview With Congressional Candidate Kevin Calvey (R-OK)

Jumping in Pools is proud to present interview number 52 in our ongoing series. Kevin Calvey is running for a seat in the US House of Representatives from the great state of Oklahoma. A former state legislator, Mr. Calvey is a veteran of the Iraq War, receiving a Bronze Star during his service. Please check out his campaign site and donate so we can send him to Congress this fall.

1. What has convinced you to run for Congress?

I am on a mission to take back our country from the liberals and big spenders who have captured it. I can no longer sit idly by and watch those currently in power destroy our country, any more than I could have sat by and watched others bear all the burden of defending our country against terrorism. Just as I felt compelled to join the Army National Guard just after the start of the Iraq War, when I was 37 years old, and to volunteer to deploy to Iraq when I left politics in 2006, now I feel compelled to run for US Congress. Whoever wins this district will be a Republican- My goal is to ensure we get the right kind of Republican, a conservative Republican who won't back down in the face of special interests and liberal pressure.

2. Do you believe that the nation has become more conservative in the past year or that the population is against the President's leftist policies?

Both. I think many people who were disillusioned with President Bush and big-spending Congressional Republicans now realize that the Democrats are far worse.

3. What has been President Obama's best moment in office so far? Worst?

Best moment: keeping Bob Gates as Secretary of Defense. While Secretary Gates is not perfect, he is far better than those I feared President Obama would nominate.

Worst moment: There are so many bad moments: stimulus, health care, cap and trade, Copenhagen, and the list goes on, but perhaps the worst is allowing his Attorney General, Eric Holder, to prosecute US intelligence agents just for doing their jobs under the law as it was understood at the time. To prosecute those who are trying to defend us, even if one believes the policies at the time allowed improper interrogation techniques, is a terrible betrayal of loyal Americans which will deter others from serving our country in the intelligence agencies and cause current agents to forego gaining vital information that will save American lives.

4. Do you believe that Republicans and libertarians can unite under a single candidate in 2012?

There are a few hardcore libertarians who won't, but I think most libertarian-minded people could unite with a Republican who is conservative enough, especially on fiscal issues.

5. What is the most important thing that the people of Oklahoma need?

Like everywhere else, permanent jobs. And more jobs will come only with greater liberty, which is the only way to real, permanent economic growth.

6. What was your proudest moment as state legislator?

I have two: 1) writing the largest tax-cut law in Oklahoma history; and 2) writing the "Stand Your Ground" law, a bill which provides greater self-defense rights for law-abiding citizens.

Interview With Doug Hoffman

Fellow Conservatives & Republicans across the Internet, I have just completed an interview with Conservative candidate for the United States Congress in New York's 23rd congressional district, Doug Hoffman. Though the interview lasted just eight minutes, I am really impressed with this candidate, and I have been following his campaign for months. This is the twenty-seventh in our interview series.

Mr.Hoffman was generous enough to keep the answers on a yes or no basis, however, when it comes to the Republican party, he really cannot contain his desire for a Reagan Republican party.

Question : Do you support General McChrystals request to increase troop levels in Afghanistan?

Answer : Yes.

Question : Do you support abolishing the estate tax?

Answer : Yes.

Question : If elected to Congress, will you run in the 2010 Republican primary?

Answer : Yes.

Question : If you are not elected to Congress, will you run for Congress next November?

Answer : Possibly.

Question : Do you believe in a strong Conservative Republican party, or a third party?

Answer : My campaign is to reclaim the heart & soul of the Republican party, I am a Reagan Republican.

Question : Do you support or oppose H.R. 3200, the "public option" bill in the House of Representatives.

Answer : Opposed, in all of its variations.

Question : Do you expect more Congressional Republicans to support your campaign within the next 9 days?

Answer : Absolutely yes.

Thank you Mr.Hoffman for this interview, it sure means alot.

Good News as Gay Marriage is Spreading

Legal gay marriage is spreading amongst the 50 states, which will hopefully lead to a federal allowance for the practice. Now in Vermont and Iowa, along with Massachusetts and Connecticut, gay marriage is finally legal.

In 2000, Vermont initiated civil unions in the United States. Three years later, Massachusetts sanctioned gay marriage, as did Connecticut last October. So the events in Iowa and Vermont were bricks laid upon an already tested foundation.

It's about time. Hopefully Congress or the Supreme Court will allow the practice nationwide.

United States Congress : give our sailors guns!

Yesterday Somali pirates/terrorists attacked an United States flag bearing ship nearing the coast of the troubled nation, the American crew fought back and took back the ship, but the Captain is still being held hostage for ransom. This is the second time this week, I ask the question, "what if these crewmen had a couple dozen of guns to prevent the attack in the first place?".

What if these brave American crewmen had two dozen guns containing Pistols, Shotguns, Rifles, AK 47'S, and boxes of ammo to protect themselves from the increasingly dangerous seas around the world. Right now, gun rights for sailors, are limited to various countries laws, and what the captain of the ship overall allows - most of the time, no guns are allowed on ship.

This policy must change.

I propose the following to the United States Congress, an act that would require that all American vessels have atleast a dozen working guns and ammo, this includes merchant ships, cargo ships, cruise chips - to defend themselves from pirates/terrorists, and to be allowed to have these firearms in any nationals territorial waters. All ships bearing the American flag, are subject only to American law - thus if American law demands all vessels be armed, anti-gun governments shall have no authority to say otherwise.

American interests, over International law.

Somali is a Nation of pirates, terrorists, a poor economy, and uncertainty. It is a breeding ground for terrorism, and are attacking ships constantly - this was the first attack on an American ship, the first since the early 1800's with the Barbary pirates, we send them a strong deadly message as Thomas Jefferson did 200 years ago, we will not tolerate terrorism.

But while idiots like Obama discuss the next move, Congress should insure this never happens again to an American ship, without a deadly fight at the least.

In summary, we are at war with these terrorists that the media calls pirates, they are no different then the evil we are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, and they attacked Americans - we must act now to defeat these cowards pronto. We must also move to arm our sailors for self defense, wherever in the world they may be.

Is my proposal radical?

No.

It is just common sense.

Since all United States vessels are under American law, and the second amendment guarantees the right of all citizens to own and bear arms, why should our sailors be any different?

Especially with self defense against terrorist
