12 Republicans voted against Afghanistan War Funding Bill.

The House of Representatives voted on and passed the much needed Afghanistan War funding bill last night by a vote of 308-114. A majority of the opposition came from a divided Democratic Caucus, but 12 members of the usually neo-Conservative Republican Caucus voted against the essential war funding legislation.

This should no longer come as a surprise to me, but it is just so damn awful that members of our own Caucus, the true representatives of the American soldier, stand against our humble soldiers, and our Wars on Terror.

Here's the list of Republicans that need to go:

Congressman Broun (Georgia).
Congressman Campbell (California).
Congressman Chaffetz (Utah).
Congressman Duncan (Tennessee).
Congressman Ehlers (Michigan).
Congressman Flake (Arizona).
Congressman Gingrey (Georgia).
Congressman Jones (N. Carolina).
Congressman Johnson (Illinois).
Congressman Linder (Georgia).
Congressman Paul (Texas).
Congressman Rohrabacher (California).

This is the reason I'm fearful of a United States Senate with Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Ken Buck and Sharron Angle, in addition to Senator's Coburn and DeMint. Once we regain control of Congress, and say we have to expand the War on Terrorism into Pakistan or Yemen, will we have enough of our own Representatives and Senator's on the right side?

That's the question that leaves me awake at night.

What say you?

8 Republicans decide to stand against Israel.

87 US Senators and 322 US Representatives have signed, sealed and delivered two separate letters in support of Israel to President Obama. The letters reaffirm the strong bonds between Israel and America, Congressional support of Israel's right to self defense, and it also calls on the President to veto any and all anti-Israel resolution's proposed in the UN.

The fact that 87% of the Senate, and close to 75% of the House support Israel is quite amazing, especially when there are groups within both political Parties that oppose Israel for one idiotic reason or another. Which brings up a disturbing topic from the letters - Republicans who were not signatories:

Senator Jim Bunning.
Senator Judd Gregg.
Rep. Charles Boustany.
Rep. Jimmy Duncan.
Rep. Darrell Issa.
Rep. Walter Jones.
Rep. Ron Paul.
Rep. Tom Petri.

I don't expect pro-Israel statements from Duncan, Jones, or Paul, but what's the problem with Bunning, Gregg, Boustany, Issa, and Petri?

I would like to ask that all American voters who support Israel: contact the above mentioned Republican Legislators, and give them hell over their anti-Israel stance. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Alliances are formed to be kept and honored, not broken.

Special Election in Georgia today.

Author's note: When I wrote this article, I was unaware that Lee Hawkins' chief Primary opponent was also a former member of the Georgia Legislature, I do apologize if I have misled anyone.

Special Election Results.

Georgia's 9th congressional district is holding their special election to replace Congressman Nathan Deal this afternoon. A Republican victory is almost guaranteed, but if none of the half-a-dozen GOP candidates (or the Democrat) capture 50.1% of the vote, a runoff election must be held in June, and a lack of Representation will continue in Congress for both Congressional Republicans, and Georgia's 9th district.

There's only one solution to the impending crisis (we need 178 Republicans in Congress tomorrow, not June, but tomorrow), and that solution is State Senator Lee Hawkins, who is an avowed Conservative Republican that will represent our values and principles in Congress.

Lee Hawkins is a member of the National Rifle Association, and was endorsed by the National Rifle Association when he ran for Georgia State Senate. Mr.Hawkins is also Pro-Life, for the Fair Tax, against big government in all cases, has endorsed a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution, and will fight for Georgia Sovereignty if elected to Congress.

Besides for the fact that Mr.Hawkins is an avowed Conservative, he is the only Republican in the race who has previous legislative experience, that will win reelection without Democratic trouble and who will receive a plurality of votes this afternoon, which we need to push into a majority.

With the above mentioned in mind, I am asking that all residents of Georgia's 9th congressional district vote for Lee Hawkins this (polls opened at 7:00 am and will close at 7:00 pm) morning, afternoon and evening, as a real Conservative is on the ballot, and our movement is in dire need of congressional backup in Washington.

Vote Hawkins! A real Conservative for Washington.

Congressman Deal represented Georgia with pride and with honor, a Congressman Hawkins will continue those traits for a long, long time to come.

Letter to the citizens of Hawaii.

To the citizens of Hawaii's first congressional district:

Aloha.

I must first admit something: I am not a citizen of Hawaii, I have never visited Hawaii, and I have no relations in Hawaii, but I am a fellow American citizen who has been following your special election with great interest. Your special election will not only impact Hawaii's political foundations, but it could shake up the entire United States House of Representatives.

When it was first announced that Congressman Abercrombie was stepping down, I was optimistic and hopeful for whomever the eventual Republican nominee would be. But, when I read into the political record of Councilman Djou, he won me over on a silver platter, because this man is not just a fine Republican, but he's also a fine Representative.

Whether it be in the Hawaii House of Representatives or the Honolulu City Council; Charles Djou has fought for his fellow citizens. Mr.Djou has fought political and social corruption, something he feels very strongly about. Mr.Djou would also be someone quite unique in America's Democratic controlled Congress - an Independent thinker.

Charles Djou doesn't pander for votes, he has remained committed to his principles and values through out this entire election. Such as his firm commitment to traditional marriage between one man and one woman. Unlike his two opponents, who both accept the homosexual notion of marriage in one way or another.

With all of the above in mind: I ask that the citizens of Hawaii, who will soon receive their mail-in-ballots, vote for Charles Djou, a man of the Hawaiian people. He will stand strong in Congress for our common values, and he will legislate as an Independent thinker, who will fight for a better and stronger Hawaii and America.

- A Concerned Conservative.

John Smoltz for Congress?

Some encouraging news as pitcher John Smoltz appears to be considering a Congressional run in Georgia. With current Congressman John Linder retiring, the buzz is that Smoltz, a Republican, might run for the seat. Smoltz has helped other GOP campaigns before and he might stand a very good shot. I'd be very pleased to see the former Atlanta Braves ace run for Congress. His legend status in Georgia will serve him well in a race for Congress and would help him in a state-wide race as well.

Smoltz hasn't signed with any team as of yet and if he decided to run, he very well might win the seat. The 42-year old would be able to finance his own campaign and have the name recognition to go along with it.

Now if we can get Curt Schilling to run for Senate in Massachusetts....

House Passes Energy Bill

This is breaking just now. The Carbon-Emission, possibly job killing, energy-cost increasing piece of... something bill has been accepted by the House of Representatives.

Why, oh merciful God, why?

From Roll Call:

The House passed sweeping climate change legislation on a 219-212 vote Friday afternoon, delivering a major victory for President Barack Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to cap the first half of the year.

Obama, Pelosi and Democratic leaders had launched an all-out lobbying effort at the start of the week and were whipping the bill right up to the vote. It was unclear all day whether Democrats had enough votes to clear the package, with leaders acknowledging the vote would be razor-thin.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) stalled the passage of the bill for over an hour by reading the bulk of a 300-page Peterson-Waxman compromise amendment on the House floor.

He contended that no Member of the House had time to read the lengthy amendment because it was filed at 3 a.m. Friday.

Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) attempted to stop Boehner about 10 minutes into the Ohio Republican’s one-man filibuster and requested that Speaker Pro Tem Ellen Tauscher (D-Calif.), who was confirmed Friday to a State Department position, limit the time that Boehner could consume.

Tauscher, citing House tradition to allow the Minority Leader as much time as he chose to consume, declined Waxman’s request, resulting in a cheer by rank-and-file Republicans.

The cap-and-trade bill, which would require steady reductions in carbon dioxide emissions and would set a national standard for renewable electricity, now heads to the Senate, where its prospects are uncertain.

The House win was especially sweet for Pelosi, who sees the bill as her legacy project and has put her credibility on the line by bringing it to the floor without the votes in hand.

Pelosi for weeks had been cracking her whip to move the measure along after it passed the Energy and Commerce Committee, pressuring other chairmen, notably Agriculture Chairman Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) and Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), to forgo markups so the measure could come to the floor before the July Fourth recess.

The Speaker effectively squashed Members, including those in her own leadership, who preferred a carbon tax, as well as many rank-and-filers who were reluctant to vote on such a sweeping bill without any guarantee that anything will come out of the Senate.

Democrats credited Waxman and Subcommittee on Energy and Environment Chairman Ed Markey (D-Mass.) for striking compromises and putting together a diverse coalition of support that included just enough Members from key districts representing coal, steel, oil and agricultural interests.

Key to its passage were deals with coal-district Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Va.) in committee and a breakthrough with Peterson earlier this week to pave the way for the vote.

But a series of smaller agreements and promises also were made to secure wavering votes, including strengthening trade provisions, adjusting regulations of the new carbon market and adding language to prevent any state from getting a windfall.

Leadership also assured Members such as Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) on Friday that regional issues would continue to be refined in conference committee with the Senate. Kaptur and dozens of other Members have complained that other regions of the country already get excessive energy subsidies.

Republican leaders whipped strongly against the vote for the legislation they called “cap and tax,” warning it would wreck an economy already in recession and send jobs overseas.

With energy behind them, House Democrats now can focus squarely on passing a health care overhaul next month.

Stimulus passes Congress, Republicans stand united.

Besides the fact this "spending" package will not fix anything, does not target the needed areas, will only expand government, no-one has had the time to read this massive bill to check for more pork or overnight measures shoved into the bill, it has passed in the United States House of Representatives. Luckily all voting Republicans we're united in their opposition to this bill, and a few brave Democrats joined us.

In the Senate, 38 Republicans have voted no, 3 cutthroats have betrayed America, Conservatism, and the Republican party, and one member gets back from his Mothers wake at 10:30, it will officially pass the United States Senate.

This was the wrong bill to be passed. And this will not fix anything.

I stand united yesterday, today, and tomorrow against this piece of anti-american,anti constitutional, anti-conservative piece of legislation.

Joe's Babe of the Week

Jumping in Pools is beginning a weekly feature in which our resident sexpert Joe C. picks his hot babe of the week and tells us why. We're going to post one every Friday and at the end of the season, pick a babe of the season.

This week's pick:
Nancy Pelosi
Representing scenic San Francisco, this A-class babe is one for the record books. Strong, intelligent, and dead sexy, she became the first female speaker of the House of Representatives in 2007. Wearing low-cut blouses to House hearings, she turns heads across the aisle.

She's a big supporter of President Obama, who must really enjoy talking to her, especially if he's standing behind a podium (if you know what I mean, wink, what?) She is the perfect girl next door, except she's like 70. Oh well, I'll take all types, I guess.
Hot grandma.
Joe's Babe Score: 8.0/10 Joe Thumbs Up
And check out our next babe!

Dems Pushing Limits of Congressional Power
