Feingold Continues to Trail in Wisconsin Race.

Democratic Senator Russ Feingold continues to trail rightwing Republican Businessman Ron Johnson in the state of Wisconsin, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports. Johnson is a lifelong man of business, and his unexpected strength against Senator Feingold, a lifelong politician from a state that is definitely progressive, has been well documented by Jumping in Pools over the past few months (last link is to latest poll):

June 22 - Feingold vs. Johnson:

Russ Feingold (D) - 46%.
Ron Johnson (R) - 45%.
Other/Undecided - 9%.

July 29 - Feingold vs. Johnson:

Ron Johnson (R) - 48%.
Russ Feingold (D) - 46%.
Other/Undecided - 6%.

August 11 - Feingold vs. Johnson:

Ron Johnson (R) - 47%.
Russ Feingold (D) - 46%.
Other/Undecided - 7%.

As you can see, Senator Feingold's support hasn't increased or decreased in two months, while Mr.Johnson's support has remained the same, besides for a few fence sitters that are currently leaning in his direction. And with the election just under 12 weeks/3 months from now, both Senator Feingold and Mr.Johnson should beg for a major/huge scandal to break, or else the results of this election cannot and will not be known until election night.

US Senators Who Oppose Kagan as of 8/3/2010.

As of this evening 32 United States Senators have announced their definite opposition to the Supreme Court Nomination of US Solicitor General Elena Kagan (31 GOP, 1 DEM), along with 49 who have announced their support (42 DEM, 5 GOP, 2 IND), and 19 who remain undecided or are unwilling for some unknown reason to announce their decision at all (14 DEM, 5 GOP).

In the perfect world - all 100 Senator's would oppose the Nomination of Elena Kagan. Actually, in the perfect would she wouldn't have been nominated in the first place. However, the Senate lives in the real world and there are some who support Ms.Kagan, even on our side, for various reasons, dubious or not.

Here are the Senators who oppose Ms.Kagan's Nomination:

As I predicted two weeks ago: we should be able to expect 35 or 36 Republican Senators to oppose Elena Kagan's nomination to the Bench. And I still stand by that prediction, however, with the dissent of Ben Nelson of Nebraska, we could also see a few Democrats willing to buck Reid and Obama.

PS - I can almost guarantee the opposition of Senator's Brownback, Cochran, and Enzi, but I'm still unsure of Senator Bond and which way he'll vote. As for the before mentioned Democrats: Look for Senator's Begich and Webb to miss the vote or to oppose her nomination outright.

12 Republicans voted against Afghanistan War Funding Bill.

The House of Representatives voted on and passed the much needed Afghanistan War funding bill last night by a vote of 308-114. A majority of the opposition came from a divided Democratic Caucus, but 12 members of the usually neo-Conservative Republican Caucus voted against the essential war funding legislation.

This should no longer come as a surprise to me, but it is just so damn awful that members of our own Caucus, the true representatives of the American soldier, stand against our humble soldiers, and our Wars on Terror.

Here's the list of Republicans that need to go:

This is the reason I'm fearful of a United States Senate with Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Ken Buck and Sharron Angle, in addition to Senator's Coburn and DeMint. Once we regain control of Congress, and say we have to expand the War on Terrorism into Pakistan or Yemen, will we have enough of our own Representatives and Senator's on the right side?

That's the question that leaves me awake at night.

Who to support: Didier or Rossi?

According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll out of Washington state, Senator Patty Murray (D) is trailing both of her potential Republican opponents: former football player Chris Didier, and two time Gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi. Leaving Washington Republicans with a grand chance to defeat the liberalist of Senator's in a deep blue state.

However, with the Senatorial election no longer about selecting a token candidate, Republicans must take into account what kind of Senator their eventual Nominee would be. And when we look at that, Chris Didier doesn't belong within 10,000 miles of Washington D.C., let alone being the GOP candidate for US Senate anywhere.

Clint Didier on National Defense:

1. America should withdrawal all Troops from all Overseas Bases.

2. America should not be involved in International Affairs.

3. Distorts Reagan policy of "Peace through Strength".

4. Disagrees with Bush Doctrine on Nations harbouring Terrorists.

5. Distorts Congressional Approval of Wars in Middle East.

6. Wants America to leave the UN immediately.

7. Does not believe in "Free Trade Agreements".

8. Was endorsed by Congressman Ron Paul two weeks ago.

He might wrap his "Isolationism Flag" with the Founders, but he's really wrapping it with Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, and other Libertarian fruitcakes. When Republicans control the Senate again, we need pro-national defense members in our Caucus, not anti-defense nuts who join the Democratic Caucus on what really matters.

Didier is unqualified for the Republican Nomination, and Sarah Palin is a jackass for endorsing this clown.

RIP - Senator Byrd.

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia passed away earlier this morning in a Virginia hospital, he was a ripe 92 years of age. The Senator was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1952, where he served for three terms, and was elected into the United States Senate in 1958 - for an impressive 52 years of service.

I disagreed with the former Senator on a lot of issues, but out of respect for his decades of honorable service in the Senate, I will restrain from using any personal insults towards the Senator or from highlighting the unfavorables of his long record.

May the Senator Rest In Peace.

On a political note: according to West Virginia state law, the state must hold a special election to replace the Senator this November. We should see Governor Manchin appoint a successor soon.

8 Republicans decide to stand against Israel.

87 US Senators and 322 US Representatives have signed, sealed and delivered two separate letters in support of Israel to President Obama. The letters reaffirm the strong bonds between Israel and America, Congressional support of Israel's right to self defense, and it also calls on the President to veto any and all anti-Israel resolution's proposed in the UN.

The fact that 87% of the Senate, and close to 75% of the House support Israel is quite amazing, especially when there are groups within both political Parties that oppose Israel for one idiotic reason or another. Which brings up a disturbing topic from the letters - Republicans who were not signatories:

Senator Jim Bunning.
Senator Judd Gregg.
Rep. Charles Boustany.
Rep. Jimmy Duncan.
Rep. Darrell Issa.
Rep. Walter Jones.
Rep. Ron Paul.
Rep. Tom Petri.

I don't expect pro-Israel statements from Duncan, Jones, or Paul, but what's the problem with Bunning, Gregg, Boustany, Issa, and Petri?

I would like to ask that all American voters who support Israel: contact the above mentioned Republican Legislators, and give them hell over their anti-Israel stance. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Alliances are formed to be kept and honored, not broken.

Arkansas supports Boozman 61-32%.

According to a new report from Rasmussen Reports, the most accurate polling firm in the business, Arkansas voters are behind Republican Congressman John Boozman by a 61-32% margin over Democratic Senator Blanche Lincoln with just 4.5 months until election day. Not a surprise at all to anyone who has been paying attention.

Congressman Boozman is a through and through Conservative on almost every issue, and after twelve years of Blanche Lincoln and her 90% liberal voting record, Arkansas voters are sick and tired of supporting pseudo Conservative Democrats, and thus are beginning a complete political transformation to the Republican Party.

We need to win 10 Democrat controlled United States Senate seats in order to reclaim control of the Senate for the upcoming 112th United States Congress, and Mr.Boozman's campaign is 10% of what we need. Please keep an eye on the Senatorial races across our Nation, but don't even bother looking at Arkansas - it's in the Republican bag.

Boozman (R) - 61%.
Lincoln (D) - 32%.
Someone else - 4%.
Undecided - 3%.
