Maybe you've heard about the SNL skit about Gov. Paterson of New York State. If not, it's at YouTube.
Making fun of a politician who stole from his constituents: funny. Making fun of a Senator who is ignorant of facts: funny. Making fun of a blind man: not funny. Seriously, I know that Saturday Night Live sucks now, but does it need to scrap the bottom of the barrel on this? Make fun of Patterson's policies, don't make fun of an affliction he can't help.

Fellow writer,
I disagree, this was not about insulting him as a blind man, SNL has made fun of people from every party, background, and pretty much every other category they can come up with.
I have no problem with this, and it was very funny, also did you see the budget? I'm not laughing about that.
Are you kidding?
Its comedy Matt, they did not do this to make fun of blind people, if you hear the main sketch of it - he is making fun of upstaters, new jersey folks, down staters, Illinois, very little is put towards the blind fact.
Where is this wrong? Its just comedy, not meant to harm him, and after seeing the budget.......I am loving it even more.
I want to debate you on this....
Well, first my name is Michael. Second, are you sure you watched the entire skit? Third, "very little is put towards the blind fact?" He faces the wrong way at the news desk, he holds a graph upside-down, he walks in front of the camera, and he talks about people from the "freak bin" (refering to his blindness and other peoples' disabilities).
Like I wrote in my article, it's disgusting.
Michael, I respectfully disagree with you, I think its harmless comedy, its SNL they have been doing this for years, they have made fun of everyone, there is no need to be bent out of shape when someone else makes fun other another person, this political correctness is killing our culture of freedom.
I don't ascribe to "political correctness." Have you read: http://jumpinginpools.blogspot.com/2008/12/by-way.html I just don't like SNL making fun of a blind man. There are ways to do comedy; SNL got it wrong.
