The Financial Times is quite often wrong. The increase in oil demand of recent years may slow a little, but the burgeoning populations of Asia and need for oil to produce food will prevent any real decline in oil prices.
The fact is, they are not making oil any more, we have already found all the really good oil fields, oil production in most countries is declining, and there is plenty of demand.
I say, grow wood, harvest the sun, and take your water wheel to the beach to catch a wave and turn a generator. And don't let Airhead and Neethead of Richmondville use any petrol in their SUVs. Let 'em blow wind.
