Military man defeated in Idaho Primary.

It's true that Vaughn Ward stumbled towards the end of a long-hard fought Primary, which Raul Labrador (Republicans can't win the Hispanic vote?) won with close to 50% of the vote. But this is not just another loss for the Establishment GOP (Ward's a lifelong soldier, Labrador is a State legislator, how is Ward the Establishment?), it's another loss for the Military candidate.

In the year of the Tea Party: Veterans, Military men, and those who support National Defense have been targeted across the Nation, and a good number have been defeated. Senator Bennett was shoved out in Utah, Trey Grayson was defeated in Kentucky, Vaughn Ward was ambushed in Idaho, and Isolationists have won across the political spectrum.

I'm not accusing Raul Labrador of being against the United States Military, our Wars or other National Defense related issues, but his record of accomplishment doesn't come within a dozen miles of Vaughn Ward. Ward is a United States Marine who served his Nation for over a decade - whether it be regular duty overseas, joining the CIA or fighting in Afghanistan.

The Halls of Congress would have been better off with Vaughn Ward; a real American hero and Patriot. It's a shame the Republican voters of Idaho's 1st congressional district disagreed. But, I wouldn't want it any other way than the Republican voters deciding in the ballot boxes.

On a sidenote: 81,220 Republicans voted in yesterday's Primary election. That's about 45% of all Republican votes received in 2008; our base is energized, our movement is ready, and we should be able to recapture this Conservative district once and for all in November. As long as the "Tea Partiers" don't screw things up.

We're Still at War. But Neutered.

The United States Military is still deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq; with possible missions to Pakistan, Somali, and other hotbeds of Islamic Terrorism around the corner. Matt wrote about the incredible "bi-partisanship" of Congress, and the lack of anti-war demonstrations against America's ongoing Wars overseas; proving Democrats were obstructionists during the Bush White House and that anti-war demonstrators were mainly anti-Bush, anti-Republican nutjobs.

Thankfully we're still at War in Afghanistan and Iraq. Obama's "promises" were just baseless ramblings to appease his left-wing anti-war base. However, even though we're still fighting in the Middle East; our Armed Forces have been neutered by the Administration; one action by one action.

Neutered? Let us examine:

1. President Obama has flown across the world (and sometimes invited guests to Washington) to apologize for the supposed sins of America. Weakening our stance with allies, while fueling the anger of enemies.

2. President Obama has insulted Israel, Great Britain, France, Norway, Poland, the Czech Republic, and several other allies, while coddling to Iran, North Korea, the Taliban, South American Dictators, and Cuba.

3. President Obama ignored the requests of General McChrystal for three months. Why? Well, in the eyes of Obama: controlling the health care of 300 million Americans is more important than backing up 150,000 soldiers in the Middle East.

4. President Obama's Administration has attempted to force the "repeal of don't ask don't tell" down the throats of our Military; even though our Armed Forces oppose it by wide margins, and would cause a drop in troop morale.

5. President Obama's Administration does not allow our soldiers to fight against unarmed Taliban, even if they just attacked our troops, and they have also introduced a "constraint" award for soldiers who don't kill our enemy.

6. President Obama's Administration has refused to call our enemies what they are: Radical IslamoFascists. Our current Wars have been politically corrected to death; surrendering the word game to our enemies.

7. Four Terrorist Attacks have occurred on Obama's watch: Murder of Military recruiters in Arkansas, Fort Hood massacre, Christmas Day "panty-bomber" and the thankfully failed attack on Times Square. President Bush kept us safe for seven consecutive years; Obama hasn't for seven consecutive months.

8. President Obama has launched a War against America's Intelligence System; releasing vital information, targeting the CIA, while hindering successful interrogation techniques in Gitmo, and forcing soldiers to comply with strict interrogation guidelines.

President Obama and his Administration has neutered our Wars on Terrorism; our Wars against IslamoFascists who want to behead us all. So why are our forces still kicking ass and taking names in the Middle East? Because we're still Americans; weaken us, threaten us, hold us hostage; we're still Americans.

Obama's Changing the Subject Threatens American Unity

President Barack Obama has taken a beating politically over the last month. Controversy over the handling of the Professor Gates situation, coupled with the public relations fiasco relating to the health care reform bill has sunk his poll numbers. Zogby even had the President at 45% last week.

And so with the primary messages not working, it appears that the White House is trying to change the message. The President and the First Family are on vacation, so Obama will be out of the spotlight. So that's why Eric Holder is replacing his image with... George W. Bush.

That's why the new investigations over CIA abuses are making the headlines. The President's out of Washington and something else needs to fill the media vacuum.

Well, there's a few problems with the new "investigation."
1. Since they were legally authorized, the actions of the CIA are, and were, considered legal.
2. All of the issues relating to these incidents have been over for at least five years.
3. The President promised not to do this.
4. The techniques were only used on three terrorists, and were not systematic.
5. George W. Bush isn't President anymore.

These "enhanced interrogation" techniques are and were wrong, but I'm not going to cry if Khalid Sheik Mohammed was told that his kids would be killed if 10,000 more Americans died. I'm more concerned with the prospect of al Qaeda massacring civilians than a lie told to the guy who plotted the September 11th atrocities.

Another problem with the investigation is that much of the information is not based from CIA, FBI, or Washington sources. Much of it is from testimony of al Qaeda murderers. Keep in mind that Saddam Hussein also claimed that he was tortured, while the guy was chowing down on Doritos.

So what's next. A couple of things. But let me tell you that one of them is that this investigation will not go anywhere. This is not a serious attempt to bring former Bush officials "to justice." This is just an attempt to get the media to focus on something other than the current President right now and hope that pop culture can re-foster that "Obama is awesome" message.

Another thing that will happen is that the investigations will polarize Americans. A majority of people don't support this action, and will leave Republicans angry. Now, that doesn't matter compared to who else it'll piss off: independents. Independents, especially conservative and libertarian ones, may have voted for Obama because of his "transcendent" message. Now these same voters see Obama not healing divisions, but exploiting them.

The President and his staff must think that they're pulling a fast one, but if the President and Rahm Emanuel would spend less time pulling it and more time plotting how to help our country, we'd be in a world of awesome.

Pelosi: CIA Waterboarded Me

Stunning revelations are bounding out of Washington as Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has accused the Central Intelligence Agency of what would be a "war crime." Pelosi spoke to Today's Matt Lauer in an interview that is expected to air on June 1st.

During the 2002 hearings about the issue of waterboarding, Pelosi sat as the ranking Democrat. Pelosi stated that the Bush Administration expected her to protest their slated plans to waterboard suspects at the Guantanamo Bay prison.

In a pre-emptive action, they assaulted Ms. Pelosi.

"I was sitting in my office, working another late night, when three men in black told me to come with them. Naturally, I asked who they were-- and they grabbed me out of my chair. I was kicking and screaming and asking my Senate colleagues for help... but no one would come."

According to Pelosi's account, the men brought her to an undisclosed location while blindfolded. Her pleas for help were only met by having a ballgag shoved in her mouth.

"It was terrible." Pelosi told Lauer, "I really feared for my life."

When Pelosi reached the destination, she was placed in a bare room, except for a bed. The agents then placed Pelosi face-up and began to pur water over her head.

"I was attempting to scream, but it just placed the ball-gag deeper into my mouth."

The waterboarding was purported to have occurred for over 25 minutes. Most cases of waterboarding recorded have been for less than a minute.

When Pelosi was released from the waterboarding, one of the agents simply said to her, "You will support our policies."

The next thing Pelosi knew, she woke up naked on the Senate floor, in the middle of all of her colleagues. She was dripping wet and noticed that everyone was looking at her.

"I was so embarrassed, I just co
uldn't challenge the CIA."

Pelosi's account is at odds with CIA records. In addition, it is estimated that any waterboarding that occurred over five minutes would kill a person. In Mrs. Pelosi's retelling, her waterboarding occurred over five times that amount.

When contacted, the White House said that they would be opening a probe to investigate Pelosi's claims.

"We need to find the truth." said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, "The CIA must pay for their crimes."

Obama Administration Stockpiling Supply of "Hope"

WASHINGTON

Intelligence sources tracking the Obama White House have become alarmed by a sudden increase of secrecy since early February. Reporters' access to the White House, Pentagon, and CIA have been severely curtailed and the President has chosen to only appear on "soft" news programs, like Jay Leno.

What is the cause of this shift? Some intelligence experts have calculated that the President has been secretly using federal funds to stockpile massive amounts of something called "hope." This hope has been transferred to military facilities in Wyoming and Montana, in case of the need to use it.

This "hope" appears to be prepared for a number of uses, including propaganda, military, and civilian.

"Hope can do anything, according to the White House." said emotion expert Sam Kell, "It can transform a recession into a booming bull market, it can rekindle love, and can even cure cancer. These weapons of mass destruction are dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands."

The United Nations is also concerned with the rapid increase of the stockpile. Syria has proposed that the UN send weapons inspectors in order to verify if the stocks are dangerous.

"The Americans are already known for their evil acts and killing civilians," said Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem. "We cannot trust them with such a supply."

There is also word floating in the intelligence community that the Administration is also stockpiling supplies of controversial and intangible items, such as rainbows and change. It is estimated that the costs of such programs will total over $300 billion over the next ten years.

"It may seem like a lot," said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, "But when we need it, we'll be glad we had it."

Obama'a CIA Pick Irresponsible

The CIA has been headed by highly intelligent, motivated, and competent officials. George Bush Sr. and Robert Gates comes into mind. In order to run the CIA and coordinate actions with other agencies and branches of government is a daunting task requiring not only a sharp mind, but also experience.

Leon Panetta is smart, to be sure, but hardly competent for the job that he was fingered for. Instead, he is a good choice for Commerce Secretary, which the Obama team was originally looking at him for. His experience in the Senate would help him in this task, but leave him bewildered as head of the most powerful intelligence service in the world.

Panetta is a well-liked former Congressman who did a quiet job as Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff. He knows how to take ahold of a pre-existing structure and keep it functioning. Unfortunately, if President Obama wants someone to reorganize the CIA, then he picked the wrong person.

Of course, the hard left is stating their support for Panetta for being "anti-torture." Not only was torture at Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo barely supported by evidence (reprehensible as it was), Panetta didn't have much to do with speaking out against it. In fact, if this is such an important prerequisite, why not have John McCain as head of the CIA?

And now even the Democrats are speaking out against Panetta. Diane Feinstein, who knows a little about foreign affairs has intimated that this choice is foolish and irresponsible. Obama won the Presidency... he needs to bring his A-game. Smiling and reading a teleprompter won't get you through everything.

Choosing an individual who is a novice in international affairs is bushleagues (forgive the pun). As the New York Times reported:

Aides to Mr. Obama conceded that they had mishandled the process, a significant stumble of his otherwise smooth transition. Mr. Biden said it had been a “mistake” not to notify Mrs. Feinstein and others about the decision.

Hopefully not the first mistake of many.
