How Reagan Would React

Everyone's talking about how it's the end of the world for the Republican Party and the conservative point of view. However, it has to be remembered that the Party took a far bigger hit in 1964, being crushed by Lyndon Johnson and the Dems.

So how did Reagan react then:

Conservatives, he said, had only "lost a battle in the continuing war for freedom." Voters would rally to the conservative banner once they realized that Democratic liberals were the true radicals.

So, in the end, it's up to the Democrats to show their true colors. If a radical spending program or anti-military agenda is shown, then the American people may not be as keen on the hope of change. At that moment, a new generation of conservatives can take a hold of our message of stability, liberty, and our own change.

It took Reagan several attempts before he was finally elected.
The U.S. presidential race has....since the dawn of T.V....been based more on charisma than policies.
Republicans can only win in 2012 if the country really dislikes Obama and they can find a really like-able candidate to run against him.
