Another look at Barbour?

I love Haley Barbour.

He's a Conservative who can hang around with the Establishment on Monday, lead a Grassroots charge on Tuesday, and have a beer with all of them on Wednesday, without changing his highly opinionated thoughts on any particular issue. Or in other words, he's an honest Conservative to all parties involved, big or small, and that's why some are on the Barbour 2012 bandwagon.

However, his polling numbers are trash - just 1% of Republican voters in New Hampshire would support his campaign according to a poll released by Public Policy Polling several months ago. In part, due to most voters not knowing who he is, even though he was the former Chairman of the RNC during the Clinton years.

So he's a good Republican who has no shot at winning the Nomination?

Sounds about right, but I wouldn't dismiss a Barbour 2012 campaign for three reasons:

1. Barbour's approval rating in Mississippi is 70%, and no other candidate besides for Mike Huckabee would have a chance of sweeping the deep south such as Barbour does.

2. Barbour was not only the highly successful Chairman of the entire GOP between 1993-1997, but he is currently the Chairman of the Republican Governor's Association, which is heading towards a dramatic victory this November across the Nation's many battleground states.

3. Haley Barbour is an honest Conservative who has already successfully reformed health care for the better at a state level (Tort Reform), and who has enacted policies that have led to Mississippi's very low abortion rate (parental consent required, banned late term abortions and state funding for elective abortions).

Perhaps the average Republican should take another look at Barbour?

Obama "Bounce" Gone

Some disconcerting news if you're on the Obama side of the health care debate. Apparently the modest approval increase that the President enjoyed after the passage of the reform bill has dissipated and could spell worse news for the President.

The spike in President Obama's Gallup approval ratings seems to have disappeared. As health care reform moved toward its denouement, the President's approval briefly moved upward, from an upside-down 46%-48% in the March 15-17 sample, to a 50%-43% rating on the eve of the vote. It went as high as 51%-43% during the previous week. In today's report, however, the President splits 46%-46% in the poll of adults, tying the lowest approval rating of his Administration.

Maybe this will wind up being a losing issue, after all.

Scott Murphy to Vote Yes on Health Care Bill

Representative Scott Murphey (D-NY) has announced that he intends to vote in favor of the President's health care bill. This comes as no surprise, as many speculated that the rookie Representative voted 'no' originally because the bill had already received enough votes to pass.

Apparently, he decided to switch his vote under pressure from the Administration. Apparently, his conscience was no match for political backrooms. Honestly, if he ever wants to be reelected, I have no idea what he is thinking.

So there's another vote towards this bill. Will we be able to stop it? With so much out-right bribing and favoritism going on in Washington right now, we must have our voices heard.

Obama spells out plan to combat joblessness
President says U.S. still must spend its way out of recession

The headline says it all; “we must spend our way out of recession”. Never mind the fact that this flies in the face of logic. Straddling the U.S. economy with trillions of dollars in debt is a sure recipe for disaster not recovery.

With bailouts and stimulus mark I behind and cap and trade along with health care looming on the horizon it seems that this administration is dead set on destroying this economy; and the country along with it.

Besides the crippling debt that these programs have created conspicuously lacking are the promised jobs. The first stimulus was billed as a job creation bill and has failed miserably to deliver. Unemployment rates have skyrocketed to near historic levels and the administration continues to blame Republicans instead of acknowledging the egregious error that was the stimulus bill.

Rather than accept his mistakes and learn from them Obama has seen fit to trudge forward on this track of national homicide. While simultaneously ignoring the facts and shifting the blame Obama is content to cling to insignificant indicators of economic recovery while riding the tsunami of inflation and unemployment into the cliffs.

The question that remains unanswered is this; is it simply incompetence or a well thought out and organized attempt to remake this country into a liberal/socialist utopia?

The jury is deliberating but the answer will soon be irrelevant. Quickly enough the question of incompetence or malfeasance will be replaced with laments of “how could this happen in America”. By then finger pointing and political pandering will be replaced with simple issues of survival as the country we have come to love disappears amidst the fallout.

The following story from MSNBC (originally posted on December 08 2009) serves to illuminate just how disconnected Obama has become:


WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama outlined major new government stimulus and jobs proposals on Tuesday, saying the nation must continue to "spend our way out of this recession."


Without giving a price tag, Obama proposed a package of new spending for highway, bridge and other infrastructure projects, deeper tax breaks for small businesses and tax incentives to encourage people to make their homes more energy efficient.

This is the same billing that was given to the first stimulus bill. We have seen no jobs created and millions lost. Businesses have struggled and shovel ready projects have faded into the ether. The one question that should be on the tongues of every voting American is this; why should we believe you this time?

"We avoided the depression many feared," Obama said in a speech at the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank. But, he added, "Our work is far from done."


For the third time in a week, Obama sought to focus on job creation, noting that the jobless rate continues in double digits and that "a staggering" 7 million Americans have lost jobs since the recession began in December 2007.

“A staggering” 7 million Americans have lost jobs since December 2007; this is the best argument against another stimulus and it comes from the mouth of the president himself.

While his proposal did not include the kind of direct federal public works jobs that were created in the 1930s, he said government could set the stage for more job creation by private businesses.

To this end Obama would be better served to cut the taxes on small businesses and relax regulations. Obama speaks from both sides of his mouth and to disparate ends. From one side he claims to want to create jobs and help small businesses by deficit spending; from the other side he advocates programs like cap and trade that will cripple most businesses and skyrocket energy costs.

Obama did not characterize his proposals as another stimulus program, like the $787 billion version passed earlier this year, but Republican critics have called it just that and have said it will increase a federal deficit that is already at a record level.




Sharp barbs for GOP


Obama included sharp criticism for Republicans in his speech, accusing them of opposing economic stimulus efforts and his health care overhaul while supporting tax cuts and spending that have ballooned the deficit.

This is one of the most insulting statements to recently escape Obama’s mouth. The republicans are certainly not blameless in this fiasco but Obama’s first year spending alone is enough to make a drunken sailor look frugal. Republicans may have ballooned the deficit but Obama has flat busted it.

He said that soon after taking office, he and congressional Democrats took "a series of difficult steps" to try to stabilize the financial system and pull the economy out of a deep recession.




"And we were forced to take those steps largely without the help of an opposition party which, unfortunately, after having presided over the decision-making that led to the crisis, decided to hand it to others to solve."

This discounts, disingenuously, the fact that Republicans have offered alternatives to each and every proposal forwarded by liberals. The fact is this administration has an agenda. They have no intention of squandering majorities in the House and Senate.

Obama did not say how much his proposals would cost, although congressional Democrats are eyeing a $70 billion package to help create jobs and to provide aid to hard-pressed state and local governments. Administration aides suggested that the part of the package dealing with roads, bridges and other infrastructure could total about $50 billion.

If it could not be done with $787 billion what difference is another $70 billions going to make? This is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to fund a few more items on the liberal wish list.

While acknowledging increasing concerns in Congress and among the public over the nation's growing debt, Obama said critics present a "false choice" between paying down deficits and investing in job creation and economic growth.

It is not a false choice as characterized by Obama. The truth is that sooner or later all of this debt will have to be paid. Sooner or later inflation will rear its ugly head and derail any burgeoning recovery. Sooner or later taxes will have to be raised to cover the spending short falls.

The federal budget is no different, except in size, than your household budget. The average person can survive on credit (deficit spending) for a while; but eventually all those bills and interest payments are going to sap every penny of discretionary spending and then critical spending. We are, as a nation, quickly approaching that tipping point. If Obama continues to spend as if the treasury were a bottomless pit our economy will collapse.

To pay for the new programs, the administration is citing the Treasury Department's report on Monday that it expects to get back $200 billion in taxpayer-approved bank bailout funds faster than expected.




Obama suggested this windfall would both help the government spend money on job creation while also paying down the nation's $12 trillion debt.

We should all cringe when the government refers to taxpayer money as a government “windfall”. This is our money and it should be returned to those who earned it; not those who would squander it

Who's Most Likely to Vote Against the Health Care Bill

In looking at the voting records and personal feelings of some of the Democrats in the Senate, it can be shown that the following are most likely to vote against the health care plan. Many of these have different reasons, but they could hold the key (or the lock) to passing the bill.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)

Already has over $100 million in the bill for state funding in her pocket for voting yes. While this may certainly seem attractive, it could also be seen as back-door corruption. If the issue gets hot enough, she might have to back off or be seen as a pork guzzler.

Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE)

Nelson is from one of the reddest states in the Union, and while well-liked, he could be facing a large backlash for his vote. Not only this, he could ruin the chances for other Democrats seeking Nebraska office. Nelson has already stated that he is against a public option being run by the feds and wants to see it done by the states. His pro-life stance could also cause him to vote against a bill which could pay for abortions. Nelson even said: "I don't want a big-government, Washington-run operation that would undermine the ... private insurance that 200 million Americans now have,"

Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN)

Bayh is a moderate from a state which gave George W. Bush 60% in 2004. Even though President Obama narrowly won the state last year, the fading of Obamamania and smaller turnout could destroy other Dems. Bayh voted for debate, but has expressed doubt about the bill.

Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)

A formerly relatively unknown Senator from Arkansas she faces an uphill battle no matter what she does. She's already seeing opponents nearly tying her, while polls suggest that if she votes yes on the bill, she might as well retire. She has also threatened a filibuster against the bill despite voting to debate.

Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT)

One of only two independents in the Senate, you might be surprised to see Sanders' name. However, the Vermont Socialist has stated that he would vote down a health care bill that did not include the public option. He has also stated that his support for the bill is "in no ways guaranteed."

Sherrod Brown (D-OH)

Brown, elected in the Democratic wave of 2006, is giving similar warnings as Sanders. Brown, whose term is not up next year, is worried that the Democrats have already given up enough to the Republicans and moderate Democrats.

Olympia Snowe (R-ME)

One of the two liberal Republicans elected to the Senate from Maine, Snowe has signaled that she will likely vote for President Obama's health care plan. There have been signs, however, that conservatives in the party want to challenge the Senator-- and voting yes could cause this to happen. This could even create a situation where Snowe changes parties.

Joe Lieberman (I-CT)

The Independent Democrat has bucked the party's trends since 2002, and looks like he might be voting against the bill. Lieberman, who might not run for reelection in 2012, may not care if the left wing of his party challenged him again. Lieberman has also stated that he opposes a public option. Fearing an increasing deficit, Lieberman may vote no.

Susan Collins (R-ME)

Collins appears to have no major qualms with the substance of the bill, but may wind up voting no because the bill as presented may not lower overall medical costs.

My prediction:

All of these Senators, with the exception of Lieberman and Nelson will likely vote yes. Even Lincoln appears to please the party apparatus and looks unlikely to win in 2010 anyway.

Senators opposed to Harry Reid/Obamacare "government option".

According to personal research, following the news, and the latest information coming out of the health care debate from the United States Senate, Senate Republicans do have enough votes to stop the "government" option in the United States Senate.

As of now, all 40 Republicans in the United States Senate (even Senator Snowe) oppose the Harry Reid/Obamacare "government option" health care plan which is currently being proposed, along with all 40 Republicans, Senator Lieberman of Connecticut has also come out against the government option this afternoon, and he will support Republican attempts to filibuster the legislation.

While there has been much discussion over Senator Lieberman's position in the health care debate, he has for the most part been on our side, as he also opposes the Baucus bill which currently awaits in the United States Senate, opposed Harry Reid's "doctor buy-off" scheme in the Senate, and even questioned the need for a "public option" several months ago (Note : he now opposes the public option/government option 100%).

Now we have 41 against the current health care proposal in the United States Senate, it is also possible we could pick up Senators Nelson & Lincoln in opposition to this legislation as well, however, you never know what is going to happen, hopefully we can stop all of the Democratic health care proposals once and for all.

HHS To Vaccinate All Schoolchildren for Swine Flu

Student Leaders in Uproar Due to HHS Vaccination Plan

WASHINGTON-- Student and teacher organizations around the northeastern United States are extremely frustrated with an upcoming pilot program put forward by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

According to the statement issued by the Department last Thursday, all students in the Northeast would be required to have taken the swine flu vaccination by December 1st of this year. The program would mainly concentrate on this region due to its historically high rates of influenza cases.

If this program is deemed successful, the vaccination requirements will be administered in each section of the continental United States by the end of 2010.

According to Faye Dunham, a spokeswoman for Secretary Sebelius, the flu vaccinations would be administered either by family physician or by school nurse. It was unclear the consequences if a student did not receive vaccinations.

"It is of critical importance to our young people and to our future to ensure a life of fit health." said Dunham during a Friday press conference in Alexandria, Virginia. "If students are at risk of this terrible disease, it could lead to illness, poor grades, and poor socialization."

Some have questioned the legality of this move, but the Secretary's statement was clear regarding this.

"This necessary action is authorized by an executive order signed by my dear friend Ronald Reagan in 1987." Sebelius said, "The HHR, with the consent of the White House and funding from Congress, has the authority to prevent potential pandemics."

Funding for the program is not clear of yet, although $60 million was set aside for flu prevention in the American Health and Quality of Life provision included in this year's budget.

Mandatory vaccinations are expected to begin November 2 in New York and be instituted in all of New England by November 15.

MSNBC Admits ObamaCare Would Bring Rationing

From the network which brings you Countdown with Keith Olbermann and the viewerless Ed Schultz Crap-O-Rama, we get this very interesting piece of news. Plastered bright and loud on the front of the MSNBC website, we're able to see something which would normally get you called a liar-- or a racist.

The venerable news organization is telling us that if the famed ObamaCare package is rushed through Congress, there may be a doctor shortage-- which would lead to rationing-- Which would basically be what has been criticized all along.

You liars.

Basically, the long and the short of it (about a month too late) is that doctors are already overworked and adding 50 million people on the rolls abruptly will wind overloading the system.

Now I know that the Dems like big labor, but what will they do if doctors go on strike, leading to days or week of lacking coverage? Will they support it due to its strike rights, or criticize the lack of coverage for millions of Americans?

Or will they just blame George Bush?

Bush Never Did That

President Barack Obama came out with one of the most divisive, angering speeches in the history of the office of the President of the United States. He may have been attempting simply to rally the left, but he wound up attacking opponents of his plan viciously.

Remember George W. Bush, who many called incredibly divisive? Yeah, that guy. Turns out that his sense of decorum and decency actually made him into a halfway decent speaker after all.

And Obama, who was hailed as the best public speaker since Scipio mated with Aristotle, is just coming across as an abrasive jerk.

Let's take a look at what he said:

The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.

That's right. They're liars! Let's turn to Bush. Do you remember during his eight years as President, how the Democrats regularly covered up evidence of Saddam Hussein's ties with terrorism and his stockpile of chemical weapons? Did Bush ever call them liars? No. He should have, but he had too much of a sense of decency.

And what makes what Obama did even worse is that he did it during a speech in which his people said he was trying to unite the country behind health care. It didn't seem like that to me-- he was basically trying to call Republicans and Conservative Democrats liars and terrible people.

I'm halfway surprised he didn't call them racists, too.

What Obama doesn't realize is that he was elected by accident. Yes, he received almost 53% of the vote, but the votes that put him over the top were those who were dumb enough not to take him at his word, along with other idiotic portions of the country: college kids, many first time voters, and effete leftists. Obama's pool is getting smaller and smaller as college kids are becoming more reserved with politics and many of the working-class, voting people are getting pissed off.

And you know what? Good for Joe Wilson. I remember Bush getting heckled by John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, and that was for stating his opinion. Obama lays out a massive whopper to America, and he should be checked for it-- right there on the floor. That's the job of the legislature, to check the power of the President.

Bush-Cheney '04, dammit.

Obama's Artificial Crisis to Push Healthcare Bill?

With public support and Congressional muster falling further and further, the President's proposal for health care reform has fallen sharply. In addition, even Senator Edward Kennedy's death and subsequent beatification has not pushed the health care debate back towards passage.

So Bloomberg News is looking at the possibility that there may be an artificial crisis-- or at least a sense of crisis in order to attempt to create support for the health care bill.

So what could this artificial crisis look like? Of course, there could be a whole slew of "random" news coverage about flu season and how the American medical system is so terrible. The White House and the news could also overstate the importance of any hospital closings in the entire country.

The President also could try and recreate the public debate by attacking the (mainly) Republican opposition. Just like CNN and MSNBC mysteriously started making idiot Birthers seem like the mainstream of the Republican Party, attacks on Republicans could herald a great changing of the subject.

"George Bush didn't want health care." Keith Olbermann could say.
"Sarah Palin doesn't support it because it has contraception for her daughter." David Letterman could joke.
[Fart face] Jon Stewart can mimic.

Nine-Year-Old Forcefully Removed from Town Hall Meeting after Question

Farrell, Pennsylvania- Though the debate over Health Care has been spirited in the last few months, the recent Town Hall meetings held by elected officials have been the focal point of attention. Yesterday, August 26, Pennsylvanian Congressman Jason Altmire (D) held one of his own in Farrell, a city with a population of just over 6,000, to boost support for the President's plan.

Though the Representative of the Fourth Congressional District expected the gathering to be heated, he did not believe the biggest uproar would come after a child's question.

The meeting, which began at 4:30 p.m., respectively, had nearly one thousand attend. Rep. Altmire began the meeting by assuring the crowd that he did not believe that the government would take over the health care system, but that reforms were needed. After several minutes of talking, the Representative then fielded questions from attendees.

The first to ask a question was Linda Patrick, a fourth grader at a local school. She held an index card in her hand, asking, "My mother has to get medicine that costs a lot of money. Our doctor says it will make her better, but my mother is afraid that with changes, the government won't pay for it. Can you tell me if it will?"

The question was met with applause from some in the audience, but silence from many others. Altmire responded by asking where the girl's mother was, to which Patrick answered "at home."
The Congressman then asked if her father was with her, but she simply shook her head. "I'm all by myself," she said.

"You mean that you don't have any parental supervision while you're here," Rep. Altmire questioned. "No," she responded. The Congressman then asked security to remove the girl, stating that "she should not be here alone, please take her away."

As security approached, Patrick hid in the crowd, asking, "What about my question?" "I will not answer questions from little children who are places they shouldn't be," Altmire responded.

After several minutes, officers were able to find the girl and reportedly brought her home. Afterwards, the meeting went ahead as scheduled.

Obama Causing Health Insurance Windfall!

The President has spoken at length about purported abuses by the health insurance industry and how the current health situation must be changed. With his message becoming more erratic and diffuse, it turns out that he may be the insurance people's best blessing.

Take a look at this report from the LA Times. You would figure that Obama's anti-insurance talks will have tempered their earnings. You'd also expect that the public option might dampen their appetite.

Instead, the President's poor handling of the situation may not only prevent the public option, but also strengthen the insurance companies.

Obama, who wasn't even used to being in the Senate, did not know how to act as an executive and reach an agreement in the legislative branch. Instead, he left it to bumbling Nancy and Harry, who proceeded to screw things up more than inviting Yasser Arafat to your kid's Bar Mitzvah.

Look at this: with the government possibly forcing everyone to have coverage, but not passing a public options, insurance companies are gaining billions and billions in new revenue-- and leverage!

"The insurers are going to do quite well," said Linda Blumberg, a health policy analyst at the nonpartisan Urban Institute, a Washington think tank. "They are going to have this very stable pool, they're going to have people getting subsidies to help them buy coverage and . . . they will be paid the full costs of the benefits that they provide -- plus their administrative costs."

So in the end it looks like the President is going to not only allow the insurance companies all this money, but he may to fund it with our tax dollars. People may actually get money from the feds to then give it to the insurance people that Obama abhors.

What's the solution? Sure as hell Obama doesn't know.

AFL-CIO Threatens Blue Dogs

Not only have some of the unions in the Democratic Party's pocket already 'appeared' at town hall meetings, attempting to police the place, but now it appears that their activities include threatening the reelection of Democrats who have fallen out of favor with the President.

Following the debacle that was the President's attempt to ram through health care legislation, Blue Dog conservative Democrats are looking at a political assault from within their own party. In fact, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. stated that these politicians are making "a big mistake." That doesn't sound like the mob will "fix" the problem, does it?

Unfortunately, what has been forgotten is that the Senate only needs 51 of the 100 votes to pass the legislation. Blue Dogs don't make up nine Senators in the Senate. The Democrats can actually pass the bill if they're politically daring enough. Instead, the Blue Dogs are a convenient attack point.

According to the incoming President of the AFL-CIO Richard Trumka:

"The special interests, the pharmaceutical industry, the health care industry are so vested in the current system they'll so anything to keep it this way and we have a job to do there.

"We're also going to keep politicians strong so that they don't listen to the moneymen and continue to erode away or negotiate away a program [so much that it] ultimately becomes useless. Right now, without a public option [reform] becomes useless. It won't change the current system."

Couldn't unions like the AFL-CIO and the SEIU be counted in as special interests for their own profit? And couldn't all the contributions they give to Democratic politicians count them as moneymen.

Obama has unleashed a new torrent of corruption, and I expect many in big labor to profit. And if you disagree, watch your reputation and your political life die.

Crochety Old Man: Obama Cowering

Jack Cafferty is a relic at CNN. Cynical and always willing to complain, Cafferty was frequently eager to criticize President Bush during his years in office. Barack Obama was different... Cafferty's stone heart appeared to pump again and the Senator-turned-President engendered a more positive attitude.

That appears to be changing slightly. It's not that I really take Cafferty that seriously (and neither should you) but it appears that his return to morose cynicism marks the first major defeat of the Obama Administration with the health care debacle.

The honeymoon period appears to have ended and the glib adoration of Obama by many is under reconsideration.

Just take Cafferty's statements and viewer responses yesterday as an example. Ramon from California writes:

It means President Obama is willing to sell out millions of his supporters so he can placate a handful of senators who are in bed with the insurance industry. For goodness sakes, can the Democrats ever win? I thought we did last November. This isn’t the change we voted for. It’s pathetic.

It is pathetic. More and more Americans appear to realize the depths of which they were duped last November and if even crotchety Cafferty sees this, we may be making progress.

Obama Weeps During Town Hall

President Barack Obama made a surprise visit to a town hall meeting in Racine, WI to help bolster his stalled health care plan. Surrounded by local elected representatives, President Obama made a quick speech followed by questions.

Members of the audience were surprisingly quiet, asking questions sparingly. The President then asked the crowd to "really challenge me."

After two more minutes George Johnston, a registered independent from Milwaukee, asked, "What is the hardest part about these town hall protests?"

At this point, the President sat down in a folding chair and started to respond:

"As President, it's my responsibility to mak sure that each and every American receives equal rights and dignity..."

At this point, the President began to choke up and placed his hand over his face. "I'm so sorry," he stated as a visible tear rolled down his cheek. "I'm sorry."

After an aide handed the President a glass of water, he continued in a tearful voice.

"It's my responsibility to make sure that all Americans are taken care of. And I think that it's so unfair that some of my enemi-- opponents are totally mischaracterizing my words. I know that under their plan-- the current plan,they would like many of the elderly to die rather than have private insurance pay for life support. I know that they would like to put the retarded into insane asylums rather than treat them like human beings.

"I know that they would rather ignore the problem than say that it exists. I know that they would rather blame me in order to save a mere $500 billion dollars to help save thirty million lives. I know that it seems stressful to be me, and it is.

"That's why it's so important that you email any fishy emails to flag@whitehouse.gov. Please, everyone. Help me save this country from the radicals."

The President was then answered with sparse applause. He then smiled and left the room. Some observers stated they saw him weakly throw the microphone to the ground and let out a large sigh.

Part of So-Called 'Obama Enemies List' Leaked

Allegations have swirled that the Administration has been keeping an "enemies list," a rumor that began when the White House asked citizens to email them if they came in contact with "fishy" information about Health Care reform. Though the President has said this info was needed to dispel "misinformation," and that a list was not being kept, a partial catalog of names and complaints has been leaked.

The document, which seems to in stark contrast to the President's assurances, contains several pieces of surprising information.

The majority of the index simply contains complaints fielded by the Administration from received emails. At the top of these listings is written "Disseminator Unknown." This label is included when the person spreading 'misinformation' in unknown to the citizen who reported them.

However, a moderate percent of the entries have not only people's complaints, but also their name. If the name of the 'disseminator' is known, it is included with the concerns they have been voicing.

An even smaller percent of people, however, have much bigger entries. Not only does the list include these people's names and 'misinformation,' but also residence, gender, race, age, political party, annual income, size of family, and, in some cases, their social security numbers.

This leak seems to discredit President Obama's statements that no such list exists. It is also unknown what the information is used for, or why it was gathered in such detail. The document also raises questions on what information the Executive Branch should be allowed constitutionally to gather on individual citizens.

The release of this information comes at a time when support for the President's plan seems to be wavering. Also, Town Hall meeting have recently taken place in which opponents of the President's reforms have loudly voiced their opinions. It is unknown what effect this release will have on the bill and support for it.

The President could not be reached at the time of this release.

Town Hall Protestors 'In Risk of Being Arrested'

With public opinion turning away from the health care reform effort, President Obama's political allies have become increasingly frustrated. In many cases speeches made by Democratic lawmakers have been picketed by what have been referred to as "angry mobs."

To help counter these demonstrations, some in favor of health care reform have agreed to media interviews to explain their position. Often these forays into the public sphere have been lambasted by conservative radio hosts and outlets such as FOX News.

Tensions have been rising steadily over the last month, with some in the President's own party shying away from the "public option" bill. Congressional leaders have also expressed their anger over the increased protests.

"These extremists are getting in the way of creating a cheaper and more accessible option for millions of disadvantaged Americans." said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD). "If these continue, public discourse will devolve into a pool of rage and fistfights."

To make matters more contentious, White House officials have acknowledged that it asked prominent unions to "police" some protests. Unofficial reports have also noted that up to $100,000 in federal funds were paid to the AFL-CIO to attend three Missouri town halls in July.

In addition, with tempers flaring and the potential for violence increasing, the White House and its political allies have struck a different tone. Vice President Biden told a reporter to the NY Reporter that if protests continued and the reform bill was stalled, some of the protestors would "face consequences." When asked to clarify, Biden stated:

"These people come to these meetings and start fistfights and yell down their elected officials. You can't do that and still consider yourself a patriot. You can't go around with swatstikas spreading hate. If you do these things after you're told to calm down, you're going to get arrested."

Some attending local protests have noticed increased police activity, includng officers from federal agencies. Whether these occurances have anything to do with the Vice President's comments are unknown.

Gibbs Calls Protesters' Bluff in Health Care Debate

Facing increasing protests over President Obama's proposed medical reform effort, the Administration has moved into a counterattack. Over the last several weeks, arguments against the health care bill have moved from emails and phone calls into fights at town hall meetings. Crowds of Republicans have been videotaped shouting at elected officials and shouting anti-Obama slogans.

Some of this outrage has caused many within the President's own Democratic Party to waver. So-called 'Blue Dog' conservative Democrats have stated that they will not vote for the budgetary increases required in the bill. Many Republicans have also lined up to oppose the President's initiative, making it less likely for the reform act to pass in August.

The President has reportedly organized what White House Press Secretary dubbed "a counterattack." President Obama has repeatedly urged followers to spread positive word about his plan. He has also asked for supporters to email any "fishy" rumors to the White House.

Press Secretary Gibbs has even challenged opponents openly during yesterday's press briefing.

"What the President does not like to see is people who helped wreck the health care system in the first place lecturing us and telling the American people that they cannot have the low-cost, quality health care that they deserve. President Obama beleives that it is unfair to say to a woman like Edith Haroldson of Hannibal, Missouri, that her son cannot access health insurance because he lost his job."

As the meeting went on, Gibbs continued with the the health reform topic. During one portion he cautioned opponents that their actions were "hurting the interests of the country." He also told CNN host Fredricka Whitfield that some of the protests appeared to "dislike our President more than they love our country."

The White House is expected to continue President Obama's push for legislation. Despite the August recess, Obama is hoping that a deal can be struck by both Congressional Houses by the end of the month.
