We had a total of 72,560 pageviews. Please everyone comment-- our writers and anyone that follows the site.

Some interesting facts:

Our top three articles were linked on Instapundit and numbers four and seven were linked on Michelle Malkin.

Since May 20th we've conducted 15 interviews in our ongoing series including our very own Joe C., Nevada Senate Candidate Sharron Angle, son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, Ben Quayle, who is a candidate for Congress, and Tom Reed, the candidate for Congress in New York's 29th District.

This is the first time in three GARs that Mr. K. has not been at the top of the most popular articles list.

This is the first list of most popular articles with no satire pieces in them.

Joe C. tied his posting amount from the last GAR with five, but is short of his record of 11.

Sirchadthepro's top article was his Starcraft 2 review, with 27 views.

Joe C.'s most popular article was on why President Obama is not a socialist, with 59 hits.

Alezend's only article about his review of DragonAge got 5 hits.

Don't forget to comment-- that means you, Joe.

Joe C. has hired a dream team for his Senate Campaign after taunting Kirsten Gillebrand.

We've received a lot of comments, including from FenwayNation, Innominatus, Sr. Frijoles, and jdcroft2001. Keep 'em coming!

    The Great Article Race

Once again, it's that time of the month, everybody. Sorry about the delay, but this is the first GAR since May 22. I'd like our writers to comment on this story; tell me what you think, how we could change, what we can do together!

So, without further ado, the top writers since May 22:

    Matt- 99
    Mike- 156
    Mr. K- 85
And three times running, our worst poster, Joe C., with exactly zero posts.

Unfortunately, as you can probably tell, not many people were writing articles the last month and a half. I am happy to report, however, that Luke, Mr. K, Matt, Mike, and Alezend all posted comments on several articles. So it's obvious that we are not all silent.

Yes, everyone, it is time for our favorite part of the Great Article Race, the part where we tell you all how our articles did in the last month and a half. From May 22 until today, July 9, we've had a total of 77,580 pageviews. Now...

The Five Biggest Articles of the Last Month and a Half
    :

    1. Obama to Sell B-2 Bomber Blueprints to China by Matthew, with 10,431 views, or 13.4 percent of our views since the last Great Article Race.
    2. Military to Pledge Oath to Obama by Matthew, with 5,444 views, or 7.0 percent of our pageviews
    3. Sotomayor: Gun Ownership Illegal by Matthew, with 4,468 views, or 5.8 percent of our pageviews
    4. Article About Miss California Nude Picture by Michael, with 2,353 views, or 3.0 percent of our pageviews
    5. Joe's Look-A-Like of the Day by Michael, with 1,549 views, or 2.0 percent of our pagevies

Honorable Mention- Obama Calls Tea Parties Idiotic by Michael, with 1,011 views, or 1.3 percent of our pageviews

    Bold=Satire

Mr. K's top article comes in at number 15, with Key Section of Honduras Constitution, which received 404 views in the last month and a half.

Introducing a new feature this month, the Top Commenter of the Month. Not only does this include the number of comments posted, but quality and insightfulness.

    The top candidates are:

    Mr. K, Luke, and Innominatus.

Now Mr. K is clearly one of our best commenters because he gives feedback quite often and quite verbosely. Luke is similar, always busting chops when he gets the chance. Innominatus, one of our most devoted and best readers, comes as a sort of dark horse candidate, as he doesn't even write on the blog. However, he comments a lot on our pieces, and it's always nice to know that we're being read by people out in the blogosphere.

And our top commenter of the month is... Innominatus. What really wins out for our best reader is how often he comments, and how well he comments. Always quick with his posts, he keeps us writers on our toes.

Some interesting notes of the past month and a half:

    - Though Mr. K came in third this month in number of articles, his computer was on the fritz for a little while
    - This month was the first time anyone has written more articles than Matthew
    - This is the first time that no one has written an article other than Matt, Mike and Mr. K
    - We had our first 10,000 blitz in the last month and a half. We hit almost 6,000 people.
    - We had also planned a second blitz, but practically called it off.
    - Where's Joe C.?

1,000th Post of the Year and the 10,000 Blitz

Well, look at that. It seems that us here at Jumping in Pools have been very busy. This very post is number 1,000 of the year, a huge number by any stretch of the imagination (maybe).

So, this seems like a good time to mention the upcoming 10,000 visitor blitz. As some of our readers may know (if they read The Great Article Race), JiP has had a great increase in readership in the last few months. While our numbers pale in comparison with many other websites, we are proud. That is why this Friday, June 5, 2009, we will be conducting a sort of experiment/setting a goal for 10,000 visitors.

Previously, we have only reached that golden number 3 times, and that was only when big stories broke (twice for the military oath article by Matt, and once for my article on Miss California). This time, we're hoping to generate 10,000 visitors by a blitz of articles, a kind of test to see if we can truly reach such a high number without major stories.

So, everyone, expect a healthy dose of LOLs and satire, politics and news, and maybe even a surprise visit by the possibly-soon-to-be-banned Joe C!

    The Great Article Race

It's that time of the month again, folks. Unlike previous months, I'm going to lump the statistics in with the number of posts, so this will be a moderately lengthy article. Anyway, this will document our posts from April 14th to today, May 22nd. So, without further ado, the top posters of the last month are:

    1. Matthew, with 116 posts
    2. Michael, with 61 posts
    3. Mr. K, with 36 posts
    4. E_D_Casabonne
    , with 2 posts
    4. Light of the Word, with 2 posts
    4. Elsewhere, with 2 posts
And Last, for 2 months running, Joe C., with 5 posts: one had literally no words, another was just one sentence, two were videos, and another mocked Orthodox Christianity.

And back by popular demand are the top 6 posts of the month. In the last month's time, we've had one of the most successful months in Jumping in Pools history, reaching 88,953 pageviews from April 22nd to May 22nd. That's an incredible number that I don't think we'll reach again for a while unless we break some amazing news, or Joe C. actually writes an article or two. Anyway, here are the top articles of the month:

    1. Miss California Article About Nude Photos, with 48,993 views, or 55.1% of our views this month
    2. Military to Pledge Oath to Obama, Not Constitution, with 4,709 views, or 5.3% of our views this month
    3. Miss California Topless Photos Strike Blow for Gay Marriage, with 3,980 views, or 4.5% of our views this month
    4. Government Attempting to Seize Smith & Wesson, with 2,297 views, or 2.6% of our views this month
    5. Miss California Considering Adult Films After Nude Photo Flap, with 1,322 views, or 1.5% of our views this month
    6. Obama to Apologize for American War Crimes During WWII, with 1,066 views, or 1.2% of our views this month

    Bold= Satire

    Interesting Notes:
Mr. K's top article came in at #18 with his article, France Goes too Far

    Our 1,000th Post

Jumping in Pools is celebrating our 1,000th post since we began almost a year ago. Our first article was posted on May 21, 2008. One of the first was a rundown of all of the fun stuff that I've done since high school. My first political post came much later, on October 7, 2008, about President Obama's foreign policy.

We really picked up around election time and are proud to have our 1,000 post today, May 16, 2009. To 10,000 more.
