The Constitution of the United States of America is for all in America to enjoy, that is unless....you belong to a Christian oriented organization. I wrote a while back how the Christian Church should be allowed to endorse candidates & become politically involved, - http://jumpinginpools.blogspot.com/2009/06/freedom-to-be-politically-active.html , well after a recent trend of disturbing anti-first amendment Church related incidents & blacklisting, I have decided to write once more on the subject.
The IRS is telling a pro-life Christian organization that they cannot be approved for tax-exemption until they stop protesting an abortion providing, pretty much destroying the First amendment for this organization, one of the rights we hold the most dear to Americans - the right to protest, is being undercut from the IRS. Luckily, the Iowa pro-life organization is fighting back in the court of law, I hope they win for the sake of the First amendment.
For years an organization in Idaho has had several United States fighterjets fly over their annual God & Country festival, for the previous 42 years to be exact. Well the Obama Pentagon has told the group to take a hike for this year, why? Because the event is Christian in nature, even though honoring our troops is not an Christian thing - its an American thing. You cannot celebrate God & our County/Troops at the same time?
Where are the cries of religious oppression?
Christian groups are being attacked from the leftside of the political spectrum, if we let this to continue without a fight, who knows what will happen. All I know, is that Christians need to write their Representatives, become politically involved, and fight back.
