Fight for a Marine, who fought for us.

Gunnery Sergeant Nick Popaditch may no longer be serving as a United States Marine, but once you serve as a Maine, you never stop being a Marine.

Nick Popaditch has served for over ten years in the Marine Corps, fighting in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, with the Marines in Baghdad and Popaditch smoking a cigar with the infamous statue of Saddam Hussein in the background, a Associated Press photographer snapped this picture. A picture which would appear in newspapers around the world.

After Popaditch volunteered to return to battle in Iraq, he was wounded after being struck by a Rocket Propelled Grenade in the head, he was blinded, however, the wonderful professionals at the hospital we're able to restore 8% of his vision in his left eye.
Five years later, Nick Popaditch is an advocate for Veterans on numerous issues across the world, has written a book based on his time in Iraq which he has received incredible honors for, and Mr.Popaditch has announced he is running for the Republican nomination in California's 51st congressional district.

Running on a platform of limited government, a strong national defense, and securing both of our borders, Popaditch is a lone force in the middle of a congressional district steeped in insanity. While Mr.Popaditch is running on a honorable "Ready to Charge the hill for our country, and protect what our Founding Fathers fought for!" campaign, he is running in a congressional district that has been gerrymandered to hell, and a congressional district which does not hold his core values at heart.

California's 51st congressional district was at first represented by a Republican, however, when the Democrats in the California legislature made redistricting changes to conform with the 2000 Census, the district became a Democratic stronghold where Liberal Congressman Bob Filner defeated his Republican opponent with 72.75% of the vote during the 2008 congressional elections, the Republican failed to gain even 50,000 votes.
As you can see, the district has been "nudged" to fit a particular political agenda, considering a Republican once represented this district, I think we all know for which agenda.
Beyond the fact this district appears to be unwinnable, I call on all Conservatives, all Republicans, all normal thinking Libertarians to come to the aid of Nick Popaditch in his bid for Congress. He has fought against incredible odds once before, and has sacrificed his sight so we can our freedoms.
This noble Marine fought proudly for the United States of America, fought for every American citizen in this great land, including those he hopes to represent in California's 51st congressional district, the least any of us could do, is to fight for him....fight for his campaign, regardless of outcome, he deserves it.
Semper Fidelis.

What kind of candidate is Gunny Pop? An honest, conservative, old-fashioned, pro-American, non-apologizing, combat-decorated US Marine. He believes in a strong military, strong borders, low taxes, and smaller government. If you liked President Reagan, you will love this guy. I know him well. He is the real deal.

Jump to www.popaditchforcongress.com and throw him a few bucks. He can win, and Filner has never had a real opponent – now he has one in Nick.

Here is Gunny on Red Eye:

If you want to learn more about Nick, read his book “Once a Marine” (www.onceamarine.com). It is all about his values and character. It will tell you all you need to know. When you finish, you will want to climb into a tank with him as your commander, or pull the lever for him in November 2010.
