Are you really surprised by this news? The first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie came out in 2007 to terrible reviews and its sequel hits the same lows. When the commercials have you grimacing in pain, you know there's something wrong.
Currently, Rotten Tomatoes is tracking the rodents at a paltry 24%, or in other words, less than one-fourth of people who watched the film actually liked it. Metacritic has the movie at a dismal 42%, which is the average score the average critic has rated the film. Imagine how pissed your parents would have been if you had brought home a 42 when you were in grade school and you will understand how bad this movie is being rated.
Sorry, Alvin, you suck.
