In the 2008 election cycle, my attention was on a wide number of elections across the United States, mainly on the Presidential election, but I also was watching the election in the 12th congressional district in Pennsylvania, the election between Democrat Congressman John Murtha and Republican Army Veteran Bill Russell.
I was fiercely rooting for a Russell victory, not only because he is a great America, a proud Military veteran, and a staunch Conservative - but because Congressman Murtha was a liberal who needed to vacate his congressional seat. See, despite the fact Congressman Murtha was/is a liberal hack, who after three decades needed to be out of office. Murtha, once claimed that American soldiers killed Innocent Iraqi citizens in cold blood, because they were under to much pressure - this resulted in his support for the Haditha Marine trials.
All eight of the Marines have had their charges acquitted, proving their claims of innocence.
Just that fact, his anti-Military hatred (even though he was in the Military, and a purple heart Vietnam veteran), and his anti-Iraq war stances are enough to make you sick to the bone. He also has a record as one of the most corrupt Democrats in Washington, has wasted hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars - via pork barrel spending, and was involved in Abscam.
Lt. Colonel Bill Russell, who was present at the Pentagon when attacked by terrorists on September 11th, along with his wife and unborn child (all were fine), is a staunch Conservative as characterized by Michelle Malkin, just had enough of Murtha's hostility towards the United States Military and decided to launch a citizens campaign challenge. His challenge brought hope to millions of Conservatives, in hope Murtha would finally be out of office after 34 long years.
Sadly, even though Russell came within winning a few weeks before election day, Murtha carried the election by a 58-42 margin.
Bill Russell was not done, and neither was Congressman Murtha - while Russell participated at a tea party event, Murtha porked more money for his private airport that we have recently learned about, as well as military contracts to Murtha's nephew, which at one time bragged about his Uncle was involved in earmarking, Murtha also supported the stimulus & the massive 3.6 trillion dollar Obama budget.
Murtha has also showed great ignorance on Gitmo, even volunteering his congressional district to house Gitmo detainees - terrorists that we captured on the battlefields! The list of reasons not to elect or even allow Murtha into any election office goes on for hours upon hours..
Russell, has had enough yet again, as he has re-launched his Congressional campaign to finally retire the disgraceful Congressman Murtha, and he has more ammo then just 6.5 months ago to use against the old hermit.
I plead with all Conservatives & Republicans to visit www.russellbrigade.com , and support Conservative American Patriot Bill Russell anyway possible, we need him Washington, and we need John Murtha out.
One last note, his congressional district is near where United flight 93 crashed, the flight which started the fight that Americans are still fighting today against terrorist enemies, I'm surprised he just doesn't offer to build a condo to house the Gitmo terrorists right there.
