Obama's Smoking is a Poor Example to Our Youth

It has been repeated millions of times about how the President is a role model, especially to the young and impressionable. Well, what more impressionable thing can you show to a teenager than smoking?

The President is a smoker, which has been, for the most part, hidden by the media, and allows such a terrible habit to get the better of him. For a man who wants to juggle the world to not be able to get over his own temptations is a strange thing, at least.

The President needs to make a special speech or a children's special talking about how smoking is so destructive to the human body. He needs to explain that peer pressure is not a reason to start smoking or taking drugs. He needs to make sure to draw a very clear line with today's youths, and not have them follow in his example.

With rock stars and actors taking drugs, athletes taking steroids, and the President smoking, what role models (except their family) do children have any more.

President Obama needs to do this as a favor to sufferers of lung cancer and mesothelioma. He owes us that much.

I am pro-Obama, though I do believe his "hidden" habit of smoking is just dead wrong. Maybe the reason why it's been hidden by the media for so long is because of just that--he has to be an example. However, quitting that habit is not an easy task. Half of my relatives smoke and only one or two have quit, and it took them decades!
