McChrystal has "offered to resign," according to a Twitter post from Time magazine's Joe Klein on Tuesday. Earlier, Klein, citing "a very reliable source," told CNN that McChrystal had already submitted his resignation.This also comes after the White House has criticized his conduct:

As for General McChrystal, he is a good man and a patriot. President Obama should be ashamed for pushing him to the point of resignation.
The guy I want to run wouldn't have apologized. He would have resigned and called an immediate press conference and told America how he felt...
You don't say the things he said about your Commander in Chief, whether you like him or not. If Obama were white, I guarantee you this incident and many others would never have happened.
