Anyone up for some BBQ ribs this Father's Day? If so, be careful where you leave them.
A woman in Clarksville, Tennessee learned that lesson this Friday after coming from Chicago for a family reunion. After the woman left the ribs out to dry, someone saw the box they were in and read a warning of the box that stated that anyone who touched it would lose their hands.
The person quickly called the police.
Officers in Clarksville promptly arrived with a bomb squad and a bomb-inspecting robot. The city's Public Square was quickly cordoned off while police made their delicious swoop on the box. Tension was high as they made their approach.
The box was found to contain... ribs. No charges were filed.
The story from Yahoo!:
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A messy box of ribs left in a Clarksville parking lot caused police to call in the bomb squad and a bomb inspecting robot. The Leaf-Chronicle reports police blocked off the city's Public Square Thursday morning after someone noticed a box with a warning on the side warning that anyone who touched it would lose their hands.
Police spokesman Jim Knoll said the owner of the box was soon located. The woman told police she was from Chicago and had brought the ribs with her when she came to town for a family reunion. She had left the box in the parking lot to dry after she took out the ribs. The warning was a joke.
No charges were filed.
