A new PPP poll out has Republican Pat Toomey tied with Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak. This comes after Sestak's upset win over incumbent Arlen Specter and the controversy around an Obama White House offer of a job to Mr. Sestak. Neither is close to 50% and it appears that there are a lot of undecided voters in this blue state.
Toomey (R): 41%
Sestak (D): 41%
Other/und: 18%
According to the polling, toomey leads Sestak among unaffiliated voters 41-21% but PPP notes that indies are a smaller piece of the pie in PA. Still, it would signal a nice shift in Toomey's direction considering the last poll of independents in the state had Sestak ahead 35%-34%.
