Edwin Jackson Throws No-Hitter

Edwin Jackson of the Arizona Diamondbacks has thrown a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Diamondbacks won the game 1-0.  Jackson walked eight, had an error behind him, and threw over 140 pitches, but managed to put the game away.  The no-hitter is the second in D-backs history.

1968 never had 2 Perfectos (almost 3), and 3 no-no's over a 162 game stretch - after the horrific drug induced "steriod era". 2010 is the Year of the Pitcher.

No, but Bob Gibson won 22 games a 1.12 ERA, 13 shutouts, 268 strikeouts, and won the NL MVP. Denny McLain won 31 and won the AL MVP, while Sam McDowell had 283 Ks and Luis Tiant had an ERA of 1.60.

No pitcher will probably ever have a 1.12 ERA through an entire year again and there is almost no way a pitcher (let alone two) will win an MVP again. Not to mention winning 30 games.

Considering Major League Hitters are no longer juiced, and Roy Halladay is in the NL - we could see part of what you mentioned occur again this Summer.
