Nicolas Mahut

Nicolas Mahut is one of the two players involved in the longest tennis match in history.  His competitor is John Isner.  They are both playing at Wimbledon and will continue their match tomorrow, marking the match's third day.

From an earlier article:

John Isner and Nicholas Mahut are now embroiled in the longest tennis match in history.  So far it is:

Isner:   6|3|6|7|38
Mahut: 4|6|7|6|38

You read that right, 38-38, a total of 76 in set 5 alone.  Wow.

Isner now has 80 aces, which is obviously a record.  The match is also well over seven hours.

Update, 2:00pm, 6/23/10 (EST):  The final set has gone to 42-42.

Update, 2:16pm: The set is now 44-44 and the match has exceeded eight hours.

Update, 2:53pm:  The set is now 49-49 and now has exceeded eight and a half hours.

Update, 3:22pm: The set is now 53-53 and has now exceeded nine hours.

Update, 4:10pm:  The set is now 59-59 and has been suspended because of darkness.  It will continue tomorrow.  Holy cow...
