Jumping in Pools Endorses Doug Hoffman

Jumping in Pools would like to make a collective endorsement in the NY-23 Congressional race. We would like to encourage all of our readers within the district to vote for Lake Placid resident and veteran Doug Hoffman. Read our interview with Mr. Hoffman here.

Now that Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava has suspended her campaign, the choice is between Hoffman and Democrat Bill Owens.

Mr. Owens is a fine candidate-- a veteran and a former businessman. However, Mr. Hoffman is the better one. Hoffman will work to reduce waste and bring accountability to Congress. He is a worthy successor to Congressman McHugh, who is now Secretary of the Army. He is not endorsed by corrupt groups like ACORN and stands for a surge in troops to win the war in Afghanistan.

Some of Hoffman's positions are not perfect. For example, he should recognize both reality and practicality and endorse gay marriage. Even Ms. Scozzafava had the good sense to do so.

As editor, I would like to give a special thanks to Mr. K for writing about this race before it became a national sensation. He gained contacts in the Hoffman campaign and even scored an excellent interview with the candidate. You could say that Mr. K is the first blogger on the national scale to pick up this race.
