Farve should retire.

Brett Farve is a football legend in his own right: 497 Touchdown's have been thrown, 181 Wins have been achieved, and over 60% of passes have successfully been completed. Not one smart individual on this planet will oppose his claim to greatness, or his rightful place in the NFL Hall-Of-Fame located in Canton, Ohio.

However, his time has come and gone, and it's time to retire for good.

Farve can still toss the ball downfield with relative ease, and I'm sure the Minnesota Vikings are pleased to have him - who wouldn't? I was ecstatic when he joined the Jets squad back in 2008. But his refusal to retire is no longer about his love for the game, but for a love of self promotion and one long, last media hurrah. One that will be his ultimate downfall.

I wish him well this season, and I hope it's his last hurrah for his sake.

Any thoughts?

P.S. - If Farve really does believe in his website's slogan: "For The Love Of The Game", he'll hang up the cleats before hurting his Team, and his Legacy.

P.P.S - Farve needs to call Ken Griffey Jr.
