Al Gore Divorce

I hope that it all works out, but it appears that Al and Tipper Gore have filed for divorce after 40 years of marriage. Wow. I didn't see this one coming. Who could forget their fateful tongue-session on the floor of the 2000 Democratic Convention, widely accepted as the reason that the former Vice President lost the election.

From AP:

According to an e-mailed statement obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the Gores, but declined to comment further.

Certainly an interesting piece of news.
