Jindal Moves to Cut Off Oil

Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has taken the lead in trying to negate the horrific effects of the Gulf oil spill. He was the first national leader to act-- especially considering that his state was in the crosshairs and had suffered through incompetent state leadership during Hurricane Katrina.

Jindal has moved to create a barrier wall to prevent too much of the oil from coming on the shores. He has also ordered the Louisiana National Guard to create these structures. These barrier walls will be placed nine miles offshore and will effectively shield the state from further direct oil washup.

Today, huge Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters lined up in the air, dropping sandbags one by one into the sea.

"They are lifting up about 7,000 pounds of sandbags," said 1st Lt. James Tyson Gabler.

Good for Governor Jindal and the people of his state. It's about time someone did somethng.
