Specter Likely Going Down This Year

Senator Arlen Specter, the long-time Republican from Pennsylvania who switched parties last year to avoid being defeated in the 2010 primaries appears to be on his way to lose the general election in November. If Specter can beat a challenge for the Democratic nomination against Joe Sestak, a former Navy Admiral, he will then likely face Pat Toomey for the Senate seat.

And according to the latest polls, he wouldn't do so great:

General Election
Toomey 44
Specter 34
Und 16

It's still early, of course, but Specter has very high name recognition, meaning that most voters have already made up their mind about him. He really needs to either drop out or figure out a new election strategy.
