The GOP Should Welcome Gays

The Conservative movement may actually be moving to accept homosexuals, a move that I wholeheartedly support. Gays are caught in the middle right now-- President Obama is against gay marriage and some conservatives, like Dick Cheney are supporting it.

Married gays with adopted kids will likely settle down. Where? Rural or suburban areas. What happens when working married people with kids move to rural or suburban areas? That's right, they become Republicans. Settled gays are more likely to be conservative-- just from a political point of view we need to support this.

But there was some more good news from CPAC:

hey now, before you get to thinking gays would be voting block, dont forget that they only number 1-2% of the popuation.

just do what is right, and forget about demogrphics.

Gino,
You make a good point. I support the cause because I think it's the right thing to do, but if it added 2% to the GOP, it's better than nothing.

Where do you get your source info that gays that settle down tend to vote Republican? I find that highly improbable.

Not that gays necessarily do, but just about everyone else does-- once you're middle class in the suburbs with some 10 year olds, you'll see yourself in the GOP

I really don't have anything against gay people but most of the gays that I know are liberals because liberals support their cause more so than do republicans. That is a fact.

It is a Cracked World we live in.
